Established in 2021, Cruise Saudi oversees three ports that have collectively welcomed over 370,000 international guests. In an interview at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, CEO Lars Clasen outlined a strategic vision to develop the cruise sector further. “We are planning to have 10 destinations by 2030, with four currently under development in addition to the three already operational. With over 60 cruise ship visits, the island’s trade and attractions have benefited from the increased activity, which, according to the residents, creates value and strengthens Bornholm as an attractive tourist destination. The survey, conducted by the analysis firm Opinion & The Other One, shows that a majority of Bornholm residents see cruise tourism as an advantage for the island’s economy and tourism profile. Shops, cafés, restaurants, and attractions in and around Rønne especially benefit from the many visitors, but cruise guests also contribute both revenue and attention that enhances Bornholm's position as an attractive tourist destination. Suez Canal Authority Issues a Navigation Circular to Enhance Yacht Tourism and Develop Marine Tourism in the Red Sea. Discounts and Incentives for the Canal Transiting Yachts, in addition to Facilitation for Berthing and wintering Services at the Authority's Marinas The Suez Canal Authority has issued a new navigation circular (No. 4) of 2024 to promote yacht tourism and develop marine tourism in the Red Sea region by providing a bundle of facilitations and incentives for the Canal transiting yachts. This comes within the frame of the Authority's approach of pursuing flexible marketing policies aiming at encouraging yacht tourism in the area. The new circular takes effect as of the beginning of this November. The new circular grants yachts with a gross tonnage of 300 tons or more a range of facilitations, including the option to join the direct convoy of ships, as well as the opportunity for direct transit without waiting at the anchorage in the Great Lakes area, in line with the regulations outlined in the SC Rules of Navigation and the guidelines for the Canal transit. The new circular also indicates that yachts with a gross tonnage of less than 300 tons will receive a 20% discount on transit fees on the return voyage if they return from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean within 60 days of their outbound voyage. Additionally, the facilitations include a 20% discount on transit fees for yachts that undergo wintering in the Ismailia Yacht Marina for more than 90 days, applicable to the voyage during which the wintering occurred, whether that voyage is from the north or south. Furthermore, the circular grants a 50% discount on berthing fees for yachts with a gross tonnage of less than 300 tons at the Authority's Marinas in Port Said or Suez, at the canal entrances, provided that the yachts arrive at a suitable time for transit and do not require an overnight stay or any services (such as electricity or water) from the aforementioned marinas.

Outlook of China’s cruise market ‘extremely bright’ Adora Magic City departs from Shanghai's Wusongkou port for its first commercial cruise tour on Jan 1. JI HAIXIN/FOR CHINA DAILY Breaking the convention that it normally takes a new cruise ship one year and a half to make profit, China's first domestically built cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, has become profitable in its second month of commercial operations, and its operator Adora Cruises Ltd is fully confident of the Chinese cruise market's prospects. "Since its maiden commercial voyage on the first day of 2024, Adora Magic City has successfully completed 58 trips year-to-date and served nearly 250,000 guests from home and abroad," said Yang Guobing, chairman of Adora Cruises during an interview last week. "The operation is smooth on the whole, and its satisfaction rate surpasses 95 percent, highly beyond our initial expectations. In the cruising industry, it takes a new ship 18 months to become profitable, but we have started making profit since our second month." Yang attributed the achievements to the strategy of exploring a Chinese paradigm for the global cruise industry. The strategy includes offering unique cultural experience, building a complete industry chain by its parent company China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC), and enhancing comprehensive operation abilities. "CSSC's participation, covering design, construction and operation, makes it possible to ensure all the procedures align with international standards.
