How Denmark can help us create value. THERE IS SO MUCH TO #LEARN...value #creativity #value After a trip to Copenhagen back in 2024, I have reflected in numerous ways in which the wonderful #people of Denmark offer so much to think about. #Foresightthinking is a powerful approach to navigate our way into the future. As Kim Baroudy, Jens Riis Andersen, and Gustav Vilsbøll Lauritsen talk about in their article: "Nordic champions: The value creation formula at the cusp of a new era" (December 2023), they say "Nordic companies can tap into their understated strengths to spur growth in an increasingly uncertain world." What can be seen when walking along Stroget street, one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets or alongside the bustling edge of the Nvhavn canal - it is there #DIFFERENTIATION. Their foresight brings today's LONG-TERM ORIENTATION with #SUSTAINABILITY at the heart and therefore creating a society that holds HIGHER #RESILIENCE. So, my takeaways are: 1. Let's be DIFFERENT. 2. Let's work towards our LONG-TERM futures. 3. Let's sustain our drive on SUSTAINABILITY. 4. Let's be agile and remain RESILIENT.

Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: 2024: The Year Portugal's Regional Disparities Demanded Our Boldest Solutions When the Eurostat Regional Yearbook revealed that the Alto Tâmega sub-region has the highest average age (56.2 years) in the European Union, it wasn't just a statistic—it was a wake-up call about our territorial challenges. This year, my work focused on transforming policy analysis into actionable strategies for addressing Portugal's complex regional development landscape. Through research, consulting, and public discourse, we confronted a critical reality: regional inequalities aren't just numbers, they're human experiences. Three moments that captured our national conversation: 1. Paralympic Excellence at University of Aveiro Miguel Monteiro's gold medal in Paris demonstrated how institutional support transforms individual potential. His achievement in the Mechanical Engineering and Management program symbolizes the power of inclusive education. https://lnkd.in/dy2xew9N 2. Healthcare Humanization by Palhaços d'Opital Teva Portugal's recognition of Palhaços d' Opital highlighted how cultural initiatives can fundamentally reshape community well-being. https://lnkd.in/dvC-xspK 3. University of Aveiro's Global Research Impact Three researchers among the world's most cited underscored Portugal's emerging role in global knowledge production. https://lnkd.in/dt72_eVm Key Contributions: - Published critical analyses on regional funding mechanisms - Led University of Aveiro Alumni Association initiatives - Expanded Findesco Consultores' impact in policy consulting - Contributed to cultural sector development through Espaço t board Looking to 2025: Our mission remains clear. We must transform EU funding from a financial mechanism into a genuine instrument of territorial justice—bridging educational, cultural, and economic ecosystems to create more balanced, innovative regions. To every institution working to reduce our territorial disparities: your persistent commitment transforms statistics into opportunities. #RegionalDevelopment #Portugal2030 #EUFunding #SocialInclusion #Innovation #LinkedInRewind #2024Wrapped

💡 When it comes to tackling territorial challenges and implementing place-based solutions, experimenting is key. And this is exactly what the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission aims to do. Committing to work on a number of tools such as Transformative Innovatation Policy Labs. Virtual spaces to align local, regional, national and MED priorities and stakeholders efforts to promote #sustainabledevelopment in the Mediterranean region. On the last day of our #innovationcamp, participants began to familiarise themselves with this concept and think about their desired #TIPLs. People from different countries and backgrounds participated in the hands-on sessions with genuine curiosity. And although it was a bit difficult at first to identify the skills, tools and capacities needed, as they had never been involved in such an exercise before, we had rich discussions and the results were remarkable 👇 Many ideas came up. From the importance of involving the right stakeholders, with facilitators to help them find the right direction. To the need to identify where these processes can add value and create common ground so that TIPLs can be spaces for dialogue and constructive exchange. To the extent of suggesting the combination of a diverse mix of tools such as analysis, peer reviews, study visits, capitalisation of previous results. And much more. It was also interesting the request to devote other spaces to this topic, such as Innovation Camps, which confirmed to us that the open discussions we had during the two days really impressed participants. And even though TIPLs do not yet exist, some of them were already talking about how they could become autonomous mechanisms after the end of the project 🔝 It will certainly take some time to organise all the interesting and stimulating ideas we gathered. For the time being, we are back home full of energy and enthusiasm 🎇 Thank you all so much! What if the maritime industry stopped moving? It’s easy to overlook the impact of the maritime industry, yet over 90% of global trade depends on it. From the coffee in your cup to the clothes on your back, most of the goods you rely on have crossed oceans to reach you. But behind the scenes of this global network lies a story of transformation, innovation, and resilience. This year, SEAtalks, part of Maritime Business Week, offered a deep dive into the industry's future. Here's what stood out: 1. The Gender Gap Is Narrowing: Women are making waves in maritime careers, with institutions like the Maritime University of Constanța driving inclusivity. Diverse teams are proving their worth in tackling challenges at sea and beyond. 2. Fluvial Navigation – A New Path: For those who want a maritime career closer to home, inland waterway transport offers shorter trips, less demanding work, and a better work-life balance, all without losing access to maritime opportunities. 3. Mental Health Is a Priority: Seafarers face unique challenges, but the industry is stepping up. At SEAtalks, experts emphasized the importance of resilience and mental well-being for those navigating the vast seas. And technology? It’s the wind in this industry's sails. ASSIST Software is leading this charge, connecting seafarers to opportunities through the Seaplify app and promoting sustainability through projects like EVERYFISH, ensuring the future of maritime is not just efficient but also responsible. Whether you're a seafarer, a student, or simply someone curious about this dynamic industry, the time to explore its potential is now. Download the Seaplify app today and start your journey! #assistsoftware #bestexperts #ASSISTDACH #ASSISTGermany

🌍 Last Friday we have participated in an internal meeting with EU Environment and Climate covering our plans and national strategies with regards to European Climate Pact communication and community building in coming months. The meeting was attended both by Country Coordinators and PR Agencies that bring Climate Pact activities to you at national and local level. 🌞 Before leaving for well-deserved summer vacation, many of us think a lot about weather and changing climate conditions. At Ecorys, we also reflect on innovation that can be sustainable and climate-friendly and would like to take this opportunity to thank Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej for organising an extremely interesting event in June: the 17th edition of the International Conference "Innovation and Creativity in the Economy" under this year's slogan "Designing innovation towards sustainable development". The event was organised in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO, EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office and the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), and under the auspices of Ministerstwo Rozwoju i Technologii and attended by experts from various fields and panelists representing startups and SMES working on sustainable products and business solutions. It was an inspiring event and an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators and EU and Polish governmental bodies representatives. ♻️ Circular economy and innovation was also widely discussed during panels and backstage talks at WOMEN IN TECH ® Global Summit. At Ecorys, we are happy to work on projects that combine innovation, climate protection and environmental awareness with business transformation towards a more sustainable and conscious economy. 👩💼 We were happy to discuss future employment possibilities with female experts attending the summit. 📢 Don't forget to check in with us soon as we will have an interesting offer coming for Polish SMEs interested in communicating digital transformation and innovation. #euclimatepact #myworldourplanet #womenintech #womeninbusiness #circulareconomy #MSP #SME #EU #womenintech #womenpower #networking #inspiracja #technologia #kobietywtechnologii #womenintechsummit2024 #science #perspektywy
