On a mission to DECRIMINALIZE HOMELESSNESS. Once I start something, I don’t stop. I would love any help and direction I can get. However; starting in my community, I will get it done. I have many ideas, connect with me.
City of Sioux Falls #paultenhaken what is an adverse childhood experience and how does is negatively impact adults healthwise? How can it be prevented from spreading intergenerations? How are you making it worse on a daily basis? Anyone can make a video walking with kids, reading to them, etc. What you do in front of press does not define you as a person at all, your actions do not match your words (this video). How are you going to help generations already impacted by ACEs be the last generation impacted so they don’t pass it on? Bulldozing their neighborhoods, which they can hardly afford to live in, which WILL make them homeless because of high rent and low wages when they’re already working multiple jobs to stay afloat is going to cause mass homelessness. Gentrification= homelessness. You are only making this problem for the ones experiencing it worse. Soon, the middle class will experience it. Don’t pretend to be a good person, we see through you. What are you going to do to policy wise to come up with a solution that works. I’m done wasting time at council meetings where you don’t listen. You are not a leader and you are not someone I respect. Find common ground with your constituents. Reallocate resources to build adequate shelters so people aren’t on the streets, lower housing costs, raise wages, give tax breaks, nutrition assistance, public transportation. You continue feeding a false narrative to citizens that their tax dollars are going towards “welfare” when really, they are paying to criminalize homeless and pay for crime rates that could be EASILY PREVENTED if you had come up with SOLUTIONS to help solve MAN MADE POVERTY. Which I have TAGGED THE GOVERNMENT which they can tag you in since you blocked me, in many resources so you can take webinars to educate yourself on things you know nothing about and learn from your flawed knowledge. IT IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT THAT ACES FOLLOW TO ADULTHOOD AND LEAD TO WORSE HEALTH OUTCOMES, which WE PAY FOR, so nip it in the bud while they’re still children. You claim to care in posts like this, where are you in the action phases. City council meetings, you don’t seem to care about activities for low income and impoverished FAMILIES which include CHILDREN for healthy lifestyle choices to prevent abuse, neglect, societal barriers. You seem to be against helping. So posts like these, I call BS on fast.

Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust - the next chapter.... Regrettably, the recent decision by Kirklees to terminate several contracts with the Trust has resulted in the redundancy of thirty-nine dedicated and highly valued members of the Northorpe team. This move not only affects staff but continues to raise concerns about the continuity and quality of care for the children, young people, and families who have relied on essential services provided by Northorpe Hall since 2017. As we transition into our next chapter, we are getting ready to reimagine our role in the community from our base in Mirfield. Despite the setback, we are determined to leverage our expertise and facilities to continue making a difference. By providing immediate support to families as well as specialised services for those most in need, we intend to fill critical gaps for our community and beyond. Our long-standing openness to exploring new avenues for engagement, funding and sustainability will be crucial to our success. The loss of our role within the previous model is deeply felt but our commitment to providing a safe haven and resources for those in need remains undiminished. The journey ahead will undoubtedly present challenges, but also opportunities for growth and renewed impact in the lives of children, young people, families, communities and beyond. #NorthorpeHall #FamilySupport #CommunityEngagement #CommunityImpact #ChildWellness #YouthDevelopment

Being ahead of the curve may seem like we're tooting our own horn, but keeping an eye and ear on what's shaping society is just how we work creatively. Before the release of our film/documentary series, Heroes of Adult Protection (HOAP), we've been fortunate enough to witness and be part of shifts in the Adult Protective Services (APS) space. It's always a good sign when an issue we're trying to raise awareness about gains...well...awareness. This most recent article shared by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) details how ACL has published the final rule for the first-ever federal regulations for Adult Protective Services. This pivotal move will further solidify Adult Protective Services as the essential service it is. https://acl.gov/APSrule
