Peridot, a beautiful green gemstone, is relatively rare and highly valued. It is often found in altered ultramafic rocks like dunites and serpentinites, specifically associated with clinochrysotile asbestos and other altered minerals in the Main Mantle Thrust Zone. This geological expedition takes us through challenging landscapes, highlighting the wealth and rarity of this gem. Gordon Salo Claims Long Lake/Eden Twp. Copper Cliff Dike, Frood Stobie Breccia Two types of occurrence are possible: 1.) A radial dyke q.d.-Sudbury breccia complex such as that being currently developed by F.N.X. at Podolsky Mine, or, 2.) A concentric breccia- q.d. complex such as the Frood-Stobie. In either case, these types of environments tend to be enriched in platinum group mineralization, but are somewhat difficult to explore due to the often remote occurrence of these rocks. This project now has indicated large exploration potential which can use the Anomaly #19 area as a starting point. The concentric extension of this occurrence is unknown; alternately it could prove to be similar to the Podolsky Mine occurrence. The Eden Project has the potential for major discoveries in a new, totally virgin environment.
