Over 50 leaders of UK NGOs have come together to stand in solidarity with communities who have been targeted and threatened by racist, Islamophobic & antisemitic violence in the UK in recent weeks. Leaders have have also re-committed to tackling and dismantling racism in the sector, marking it as a key priority for their organisations. On International Youth Day, I have some exciting news to share! Our research proposal together with Marie-Simone Kadurira, "Bridging the Gap: Funding Young Feminist Organizations (YFOs) in Africa" has been selected from 123 submissions after the call for papers “Financing for Feminist Futures”, organized by the Walking the Talk Consortium composed of Hivos Restless Development Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy and Equipop! 🌍 Our research will explore alternative public funding mechanisms to support YFOs in Africa, focusing on empowering grassroots movements in Sudan, Tunisia, Senegal, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. Stay tuned as we continue to advocate for feminist funding and sustainability for YFOs across the continent.
