Happy 4th of July to all our friends, customers and colleagues! Did you know that, although July 4 is known as Independence Day, the vote for independence actually took place on July 2, 1776, and the Declaration itself wasn’t signed until August 2! Here are some other fun facts: · 150 million hot dogs are routinely consumed at July 4 celebrations · The Philippines, Liberia and the Marshall Islands also celebrate their independence on July 4 · The Declaration of Independence was signed 248 years ago but July 4 only became a federal holiday in 1870, almost 100 years later #FourthofJuly #IndependenceDay #FunFacts

As Zimbabwe celebrates 44 years of independence tomorrow, we reflect on the journey of our nation. Section 67 Political Rights(3)(a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe guarantees the *right to vote*, a pillar of our sovereignty. Yet, recent events like the CCC recalls remind us that the struggle for true independence continues. These actions undermine the political rights enshrined in our constitution and highlight the ongoing challenges in our democratic processes. This Independence Day, let's renew our commitment to the ideals of freedom and democracy for all Zimbabweans. #RightsWednesday #ZimIndependence44

I envisage a world where all children experience unwavering safety, equality and empowerment. unlocking their full potential for a brighter future
As we approach the General and Presidential Elections in Liberia comes October 10, 2023, we strongly condemn all statements and actions that threatens the peace and security of our beloved Mama Liberia. Liberia is above any political or personal interest and individuals. As released on Monday September 25th, by our national peace Icon Loretta Alethea Pope Kai Chairperson of the National Civil Society Council of Liberia, in response to Amb Joseph N. Boakai former Vice President and Standard bearer of the lead opposition Unity Party statement of ending Liberia if the election is rigged, let this serve as an emphasis on behalf of the youth and children of Liberia that we will hold you to account for any act of election violence or actions that will jeopardize the peace of our beloved country. If our politicians are actually competing to ascend to power for the betterment and interest of our country, they must prioritize the future of Liberia by protecting the peace and security that we enjoy today rather than distabilizing the peace and stability we continue to enjoy for the last 2 decades after 14yrs of civil war for their personal interest. In view of the above mentioned, we're kindly urging all political parties to desist from all forms of inciting statements and actions that will perpetrate violence to jeopardize the peace and stability of our country if you truly want our interest, there is a legal procedure that can be followed when you feel cheated so please remain in the confined of the law because Liberia is greater than you all. We further encourage the youthful population to remain Ambassadors of peace in order to protect our future because election is just a day while our future is indefinite. #NECLIBERIA #NCSCL #AFRICANUNION #ECOWAS #EU #USEmbassyMonrovia #SIDA #UNDP #PBO #BritishEmbassyMonrovia

I am deeply saddened by the recent events that have unfolded in Kenya. It is disheartening to witness the loss of lives and the lack of constitutional maturity in handling protests and freedom of speech. As a nation, we must condemn such acts and strive for true leadership. True leadership does not involve weaponizing, policing, or resorting to military action against individuals exercising their constitutional right to protest and freedom of speech. Instead, it entails active listening, engaging in dialogue, and seeking peaceful resolutions. A president, as outlined in the constitution of Kenya, holds a public office elected by the people, for the people. Their power lies in serving and representing the interests of the citizens. This unfortunate situation serves as a crucial lesson for all Kenyans as we approach the upcoming elections. It highlights the importance of responsible governance, respect for human rights, and the need for leaders who prioritize the welfare of every common man. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to those who have lost their lives in this fight. Their sacrifice should not be forgotten, and we must work towards a better future where the rights and aspirations of all Kenyans are respected and protected. Let us remember their names and honor their memory as we strive for a more just and inclusive society. In these challenging times, it is crucial for us to come together as a nation, united in our pursuit of justice, equality, and peace. Regardless of our political affiliations, let us prioritize the well-being of our fellow citizens and work towards a brighter future for all. #peace #justice #rejectfinancebill #protest #humanrights #freedomofspeech #kenyastrong

There is a genocide going on. The Only Role That Matters Now Is Speaking Out. #Palestine will be free.
Britain has paid Rwanda at least £200 million towards this disastrous forced deportation bill. It hasn't become law yet (though with the UK's puppet monarchy, that happens when the monarch rubber stamps it). £200 million pounds ALREADY SPENT on something they did not even know would become law when they set out on their heartless mission to placate racist British people. Not a single asylum seeker has been sent yet. Not a single one will be sent for months. Once the machine starts there will be new money sent (another £50 million is due to be sent this year). These deportations will be challenged on a case by case basis - and the law will be challenged. That will cost millions more. There are current 50,000 + people in the bucket of asylum seekers that this bastard law will affect. How much do you think it will cost - given that government costs are always at least 10x regular costs because of sticky fingered procurement rules - to deport 50,000 people? All this negotiated by the same people who relish their ability to negotiate deals post-Brexit. With patriots like these who needs enemies. With Sunak's noted success at wasting UK taxpayer cash during #Covid and the Tory party using the public purse to fund their xenophobia and in-fighting, the UK does not need Russian interference to speed its decline and irrelevance in the world. It just needs the Tories and Starmer is not really an improvement either. Britain deserves so much better. But only gets it if it wakes the phuc up and demands better. #BetterBritain

We are deeply troubled by the premature termination of the Commission of Inquiry on the Situation in the Tigray Genocide in Ethiopia. Accountability and justice are essential to healing wounds and preventing future atrocities. Perpetrators must face the consequences of their actions. We implore the world to stand with us in this calling for justice. #TigrayGenocide #JusticeForTigray #Ethiopia #AccountabilityMatters" https://lnkd.in/epAiWPm7
