Is it important to follow up on job applications? The positions that I've applied for are ones that I feel my skill set could transfer to quite easily. In 3 months and many applications, I've only had one interview and now I'm seeing the same positions being re-listed and I never even got an acknowledgement of my application for most of them. What ideal candidate do these companies have in mind? I feel as though this is becoming a very common issue as I read more and more posts from both recruiters and job-seekers. Let's do something about it.

Thanks to everyone who participated in my most recent poll! The poll focused on the impact of job offer declines after initial acceptance. The results were fascinating, with 41% of respondents reporting an increase in candidates declining job offers after accepting them. From my perspective, the increase can be attributed to the following three factors: 🔴 Increased Flexibility, Increased Options: The remote and hybrid work landscape empowers candidates to explore other opportunities even after accepting an offer. 🔴 Information Asymmetry: Gaps in the interview process (e.g., remote interviews not fully capturing company culture) could contribute to post-acceptance surprises. 🔴 Shifting Priorities: Personal circumstances or lifestyle preferences might take precedence over initial job acceptance. Join the conversation in the comments! I’d love to hear your thoughts on what strategies companies can adopt to build stronger candidate commitments after job offers.

I recently applied for 150 jobs on LinkedIn as well as Indeed. The Results: - 130 applications were never viewed. - 15 of the remaining, 20 applications received automatic rejections within minutes. I managed to secure 2 interviews: 1. An initial chat that went nowhere and candidate waits for reverts. 2. A promising interview that advanced to the next round, only for me to be ghosted afterward. This broken hiring process wastes everyone's time. its time for companies to step up and overhaul their system. Show respect to job seekers. Fix it now on if you are a recruiter, I urge you to have conversations with your team if you know your hiring process is broken.

Here are two statistics from Glassdoor you should keep in mind as you embark on your hiring journey: 1. Each job posting attracts approximately 250 resumes on average. Out of the 250, only 4-6 will get called to interview, and only one will get the job. 2. Glassdoor found the average job-seeker applies to twenty-seven companies before landing an interview. For some reason, this is how people are hired today in the labor market. Its a numbers game. In order to get hired, you have to apply to as many jobs as is humanly possible. Is that how you want to determine your people? Probability?

Today, I experienced a setback in my job search journey. After completing 8 rounds of interviews with a firm I admired, I received a denial letter with no specific feedback. It's disheartening to not be informed about areas of improvement after investing time and effort into the process. Recruiters, strive for more constructive communication to help candidates grow. #JobSearch #Recruitment #Feedback
