This #WorldEnvironmentDay, the focus is on #GenerationRestoration – safeguarding our land against desertification and drought. The construction industry, as a major resource user, has a vital role to play in this effort. Concrete, a widely used building material, has a significant environmental impact. Fortunately, innovative solutions like low carbon concrete are on the rise. These advancements involve utilising recycled materials and capturing CO2 emissions during production, which ultimately reduces the industry's carbon footprint. By embracing these sustainable practices, the construction industry can actively contribute to land restoration. This not only conserves precious resources but also helps mitigate the risks of desertification and drought for future generations. #construction #sustainable #recycling

🌍Comparative Study of Waste Reduction Practices in Multi-Family Construction 🌍 Exciting insights from a recent study on multi-family housing projects in the mountain-west states of the U.S. reveal the significant benefits of off-site framing practices in wood-framed constructions: 🔍 Key Findings: -Notable Reduction in Wood Waste: Off-site framing achieves remarkable reductions in wood waste, enhancing sustainability. -Minimized Methane-Producing Landfill Waste: Nearly eliminates all methane-producing landfill waste, promoting a greener environment. -Effective Wood Cut-Off Reuse: Practices ensure better reuse of wood cut-offs, contributing to resource efficiency. -Higher Circularity: Achieves higher ‘circularity’ for wood cut-off waste, supporting a sustainable construction cycle. This study highlights the powerful impact of off-site framing in driving sustainability in the construction industry. 🌱🏗️ Read the full study and discover the transformative potential of off-site framing practices: https://lnkd.in/eNQyPdPe #Sustainability #ModularConstruction #Construction #WoodWaste #WasteReduction #ColoradoStateUniversity #OffSiteConstruction #GreenBuilding #CircularEconomy #BuildingInnovation

Happy World Environment Day! On this day, we share some eye-opening facts on why PEB Solutions are the future of sustainable construction: 1. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that traditional construction generates 23% of air pollution and 40% of drinking water pollution, whereas prefabricated construction cuts energy consumption by 67%. 2. Waste reduction is notable, with traditional methods wasting around 30% of building materials, while prefabrication lowers this to 1.8%, according to the Waste & Resources Action Program (WRAP). 3. With construction primarily conducted offsite in controlled environments, noise pollution is minimized, benefiting workers and neighbouring communities. 4. In terms of carbon emissions, studies by MDPI and the Modular Building Institute reveal an 86 kg per square meter reduction and up to 45% less carbon emitted by PEBs, respectively, compared to traditional construction. . . . . #nezonegroup #worldenvironmentday #steel #circulareconomy #sustainablility #PEB #Reliability #Innovation #PreEngineeredBuildings #PEBStructures #NezonePEB

🏢 Ever wondered what happens to waste from the construction and demolition of buildings? Well more than 75% of it ends up in landfills. This waste includes wood, drywall, asphalt shingles, bricks and clay tiles. So what can be done to make construction more sustainable? Sustainable construction focuses on using less energy, water and materials to generate less waste and carbon emissions. At Geocycle, we provide the expertise to recycle raw materials into low-carbon building materials, while diverting waste from landfills. In 2023, we turned 14 million tons of waste into alternative raw materials and fuels, reducing the consumption of natural resources and decarbonizing the production of construction materials. Explore more about how Geocycle is advancing sustainable construction 👉 https://lnkd.in/exGB6Uyw #RethinkingWaste #WasteManagement
