New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show new born syphilis cases are at the highest level in at least 30 years. Barbara Franklin, RN was accused and indicted for stealing drugs from patients and falsifying medical records to conceal the thefts. The crimes took place between October and December 2022. The indictment lists hydromorphone, morphine, fentanyl and oxycodone as the drugs involved in Dunn's alleged crimes.Dunn was also indicted in Montgomery County last month on similar charges.( https://lnkd.in/gfySWDGH) 3. A panel of experts explored the following question: Are all physicians obesity doctors now? In Celebration of Black History Month, the AANA featured Black CRNAs in its posts. The first highlighted was Naomi Burton Adams who was the first Black nurse admitted into Jefferson Medical College Hospital School of Anesthesia in 1952. The second highlighted was Annette Fuller Hightower, the 1st Black student at Charleston Memorial Hospital, West Virginia (1966). Notably, she was the first Black CRNA to work in the state of WV.
