🌿 Embracing Change, Empowering Communities: The Suba Kuria Green Project Journey 🌿 We recently had the enriching opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking conversation with our esteemed partner, Voice, reflecting on the remarkable evolution of the Suba Kuria Green Project. This initiative, a fruit of the success of #Lokafestival2023, stands as a compelling testament to the transformative power of art and collaboration in driving societal change. 🎨 Born from the vibrant support of Voice for the #artforchange project, the Suba Kuria Green Project harnesses cultural art as a dynamic medium for advocacy. It's more than just an environmental endeavor; it's a movement challenging deep-rooted practices like #FGM, early marriage, and violence against women. Through art, we're sparking conversations, altering perceptions and behaviour , and fostering a co-existence and empowerment among commmunities. Cultural art is a powerful medium that we should not forget in our programs #folklore 🌱 The essence of the Suba Kuria Green project lies in its community-centric approach. It's an exemplar of how grassroots initiatives can yield substantial, enduring impact, fostering community dialogue and co-existence. Our partnership with the Voice has been pivotal in steering this shift towards sustainability and proactive climate action.This project serves as a prime illustration of the effectiveness of community-driven initiatives. Their capability to foster significant and lasting impact is truly awe-inspiring. ✨ Today, we are happy to share the last research from our member Policy Center for Roma and Minorities Foundation in Romania. In 2023, ERGO Network awarded its members with small grants in 3 different categories as part of our Annual Work Programme #Roma #Equality, #Inclusion and #Participation 2023”, funded by the CERV Programme of the European Commission. Roma communities are disproportionately affected by #environmental hazards. To address this issue, we need to adopt a human rights-based approach that prioritizes community involvement.
