I have one light Friday story to share:
Sports might seem harsh on children,
especially in today’s overprotective climate.
One of the most valuable lessons sports taught me is resilience.
I practiced artistic swimming, and I was the youngest member of the national team. For those unfamiliar, artistic swimming involves choreography movements to music in the water, where you perform nearly breathlessly for a few minutes.
We use nose clips to keep water out of our lungs and stomach, but incidents can occur and you lose your clip during the routine.
When that happens, the coach's directive is clear:
Keep going!
Everything slows down, and your only focus is finishing the routine, and surviving.
They train you to persevere, no matter what, because there are no second chances.
While it may seem harsh, it shapes you so that no obstacles can prevent you from reaching your goal.
PS. By reaching forty, we've accumulated a wealth of life experience.
Looking back, I often wonder—how many lives have I lived so far?
