Today, my first full-time onsite developer started since March of 2020. Saying that because software developers shouldn't be required to be fully onsite. You're missing out on a wider pool of quality talent. You're paying up to 10% more for those candidates willing to be onsite. You might be wanting them to learn the team, their co-workers, and company. They can do those things. 3 days a week or one day a week onsite. Other corporate divisions might be coming in every day. They can - 3 days a week or one day a week onsite. You might question if they are working. Which means you shouldn't have hired them anyways. If there isn't a specific purpose for onsite, don't force it. Look for hybrid candidates if you can't do fully remote. Generally speaking, you will have more success and happier employees.
