While I still don't see how it's good for Tesla, letting go of the supercharger team is great for the rest of the industry. They've burned landlord relationships. They've ceded market share. They've freed up top talent. Revel has already added several new charging sites to our NYC pipeline and is interviewing multiple candidates for key positions. Revel and every other charging operator gained a significant tailwind this week.
Frank Reig huge opportunity. New Yorkers are famous for hustle and bringing energy to art, comedy, hip hop, finance, fashion. Now it’s time to bring energy to energy and be a model for the rest of the U.S. #Comotion #cars #automotive #ev #innovation #venturecapital #startups #electricvehicles #startup #sustainable #esg #lastmiledelivery #rideshare #delivery #evs #commercialvehicles #fleetmanagement #engineering #automotivedesign #lastmile #automotivenews #mit #automotiveindustry #stanford #teslamotors #rivian #lucidmotors #indigotechnologies CNBC Bloomberg News The Wall Street Journal
Frank Reig Tesla opening up their charging network to other operators always felt like giving away their competitive advantage. Getting other car companies to agree to use the tesla standard was the true benefit to tesla. The bar is set pretty low for other non tesla charging networks to gain share. Electrify america and chargepoint leave a lot to be desired. Rooting for you at Revel!
100% agree. There is so much opportunity for charging networks in places where density matters.
Could something be in the works? A hidden strategic move? Time will tell.
I completely agree with you! the recent layoffs were quite disheartening
May you guys thrive throughout this!
The opportunity for Revel was the first reaction I had when I heard the news - wishing you and the team continued success Frank Reig!
Interesting take on the industry shift! Supercharger team moves open up growth. Revel's expansion in NYC will definitely shake things up. 🚀✨
