Throwback to a very painful moment in the SportSpyder LLC Journey – The 2009 Ice Storm ❄️ and Our Evolution.... 🔥 Dec 2009: SportSpyder.com was buzzing with record traffic during the MLB winter meetings. Fans were hooked, seeking off-season updates for their favorite teams. ❄️ The Twist: Then, the worst ice storm I've ever seen hit, plunging us into darkness. Our site, hosted from my basement, went offline for 3 days! A tough blow after our all time traffic highs. 🔄 The Game Changer: This was a wake-up call. We realized basement servers weren't cut out for our growing needs. Enter Patrick Muldoon a friend who I met from the local Ruby meetup group. He worked at INOC Data Centers which happened to be just a few floors up from my day job at the time. He helped us transition to their data center. 🚀 15+ Years with INOC: Since moving to INOC, we've experienced zero outages and exceptional support. It's been over a decade of uninterrupted service and growth. Challenges and pain points spur growth & adaptation.
