While the #SuperBowl may have passed, I believe (American) football has an exciting future ahead as it continues to make its mark across the globe. 🌍 🌎 🌏
🏈 Last fall, the National Football League (NFL) returned to Germany for two games at Frankfurt Stadium. The league has been playing internationally for almost 20 years – with teams going head-to-head in cities like London, Mexico City and Toronto. And the NFL’s global appearances have seen incredible success, with sold-out crowds and record-breaking viewership.
🏎️ Though, this is bigger than American football. In fact, several professional sports have expanded globally in recent years. For example, Formula 1 is growing in North America, Asia and the Middle East. ⚽️ Meanwhile, many European Football Leagues have ambitious plans to expand outside of their national ground, even considering playing regular season matches in the U.S. Not easy to balance global appeal and local fans expectations.
🏆 That being said, just like in sports, the fundamentals for success in global business are still solid leadership, a strategic game plan, team collaboration, top talent and the drive to win.
