How to not feel overwhelmed: The key is to learn to play with what you have right now and not to dwell on things that haven't happened yet or have already occurred.

LinkedIn Bottom Voice 💩 Founder of Gut Wealth® liquid supplement for people with irritable guts 🟧 Winner of MedTech & HealthTech Start Up of the Year 2024 🏆
I’m gonna let you into a little secret 🤐 In fact, it’s not so secret But I rarely post my LinkedIn posts in real time Here’s why… 1️⃣ Lack of Time Machine 🕰️ – Future me is sometimes more organised than present me. And vice versa. 2️⃣ The Algorithm Gods 📈 – my reactive posts often flop. Scheduling helps me get some rhythm in that algo and warm that algo up 3️⃣ Online safety 🆘 - I avoid sharing info that might leave me unsafe e.g. location. Might seem trivial but I’m often amazed at how much detail people share online that could easily be used for sinister deeds. 4️⃣ Spicy takes 🌶️ – I’m opinionated. And I wouldn’t have survived the Salem witch trials (for example). Just because that’s not the social norm now, doesn’t mean I don’t think about that. So, I don’t need to wade in on every thing. And really I have zero interest in being a keyboard warrior. I’d rather take real action. Question: are you surprised by this ‘secret’? Or has it been obvious?

Struggling with problem-solving? Don't worry, you're not alone. While many are told to develop these skills, few are actually taught how to solve a problem. But fret not! There's a method that can help: the 5 "WHY" method. By digging at least 5 layers deep to find the root cause of a problem, you can avoid fighting superficial symptoms. For example, let's say you received a speeding ticket. Instead of just accepting the fine, ask yourself: 👉 Why were you speeding? Perhaps it's because you were late for work. 👉 But why were you late? I overslept. 👉 Why did you oversleep? I didn't set my alarm. 👉 Why didn't you set the alarm? Because I forgot to set it. 👉 Why did you forget? I went to bed late. By asking "why" at least 5 times, you can uncover the real problem and work towards a solution. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you! #problemsolving

Everything can be fine at work. And then we get triggered. An inflammatory email. A confrontational phone call. And before you know it you’ve lost your cool. ⚠️ Maybe you slam the desk ⚠️ Get hostile ⚠️ Become dramatic ⚠️ Or you run away ⚠️ Or cry These kinds of responses can cause a breakdown in relationships and a loss of respect. I use a whole host of tools in my Peace Under Pressure program to support people if they get triggered at work. These include: 🔎 Self-awareness - recognising you’ve been triggered allows you to do something about it without reacting and apologising afterwards. 🍃 Calm the mind, calm the body - learning to practice self-control. ⚖️ Choosing to respond with intention, rather than react from a place of fear or anger When people have the tools to respond in a calm and considered way they are less likely to fly off the handle and keep their reputation and relationships intact. Are your people feeling the pressure? Let's talk! Book a free Discovery Call.

Let's break down the steps of problem-solving in simpler terms: 1. Understand the Problem: - Figure out what the problem is. What's going wrong or what needs fixing? 2. Learn More About It: - Find out more about the problem. Why is it happening, and what's around it? 3. Think of Ideas: - Come up with different ways to solve the problem. Don't worry about which is best just yet. 4. Pick the Best Idea: - Choose the solution that seems the most doable and effective after thinking about all the ideas. 5. Plan How to Do It: - Make a plan. Decide what steps to take, who will help, and what you need to get it done. 6. Do It: - Start following your plan. Put your solution into action. 7. Check How It's Going: - Keep an eye on what's happening. Is your solution working? Do you need to make changes? 8. Learn from It: - Once it's done, think about what worked and what didn't. Learn from the experience. 9. Remember for Next Time: - Keep a record of what you did and learned. It might help you in the future if a similar problem comes up. 10. Tell Others: - If your solution worked well, share it with others. They might find it helpful too! By following these steps, you can tackle problems step by step and find good solutions. #problemsolvingskills #problem #problemsolving

For a while, I've grappled with "Impostor Syndrome," questioning my knowledge and abilities. When asked, "So what do you think?" doubts would creep in, whispering, "don't lead them astray." To challenge myself, I pursued a certification. And you know what? I not only wrote it but also aced it in July this year! Now officially a Senior Professional Human Resource International, the lingering doubt keeps me hungry for more knowledge. It's safe to say that for now, I know that I only know a little. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

In my last post I talked about problem solving. While no one likes having incidents, trying to figure out _why_ something broke can be an adrenaline rush. Though it can be the worst thing when you haven't solved something yet, and your brain just won't let it go. You think about it while trying to sleep, or exercising or cooking dinner. Looking forward to that next dopamine hit when we work out this current research bug. Maybe just one more look into Elastic logs or the database... #problemsolving #incidentmanagement #letitgo #softwaredevelopment #productionsupport

There's a saying that if you can write down the problem correctly than half of the problem is solved. I am not sure if the problem actually gets solved or not but the problem seems easier to solve if you know it clearly. #problemsolving #tips
