It's just a TV talent show. He has been a janitor for 23 years. He is just singing a song. But this happens every day in our businesses. One of my waitresses went on to become Vice President of American Airlines. We all employ Richard and Emily, who have many talents that often go undiscovered. How do you ensure the talents in your team are highlighted? We can inspire our teams and invite this array of talents into our businesses. It may involve creativity, IT, customer service, technical skills, business development, marketing, photography, or content creation. If you watch one video today, watch this one. As managers our job is to help people achieve thier dreams. I don’t buy into all of the posts saying that people only leave bad bosses. In many instances employees leave because their current boss prepared them and helped them achieve their dreams. And, sometimes they don’t realize that until they have a chance to reflect on how they got where they are. Good bosses can create opportunities for good people to leave because staying only holds some employees back from achieving all they can be and realizing their dreams.

🌟 That feeling you get when you begin a journey of a lifetime 🌟. 🎉 Everyone remembers their first time at Disney. You walk into the park, and you feel that excitement in the air, where reality seems to fade, and the only thing that matters is the magic you feel 🪄. 🎉 I can never forget my first time going to Disney, and while that feeling may not be the same as it was my very first time; those memories are core celebrations that stay locked in my brain forever. However, If I can compare that feeling to anything else, I can always compare it to my first day at Southwest Airlines 💙❤️💛. 🔹️ My first day at Southwest resembled the exact same feeling I had when I walked through those “Golden Gates” to the Disney Castle. I walked in dressed to impress in my Southwest gear, like how I was in my Disney gear. 🔹️ I remember before learning about any rule, policy, or schedule – I was greeted with LUV, smiles, and cheers down a red carpet; just like Disney as you are greeted by all the characters cheering your way into the park. 🔹️ And lastly, I left my first day feeling like a changed person, and even though every day is always not rainbows and sunshine, I still think back to my very first day and how the People keep our Culture alive, just like how they do at Disney. 🎉 Today we had 60 Cohearts that embarked in that feeling today. There’s lives will change as their Southwest journeys will mold them into future leaders, as well as caring for our customers as we continue to navigate change 🙏. 🎉 It is a journey that is exciting, and while there may be bumps along thebway – we will be there cheering them one every step of the way, just like how we are cheering for YOU to land that new journey. Always on the look out for LinkedIn content says Mrs G. Yep, I am ;) Well after a short trip to Disney in Paris I was met with the perfect content as I was eating dinner, looking out at the Magic Kingdom. Those that know me, know I am a massive Disney fan, so when that and my love of Swans came together, well it was "magical" as they would say at Disney. Not only that but the Swans were Indigo! For those that know me, you also appreciate the ridiculous level of excitement I had at this time! Where is the point of this post James, you ask. Well, at Indigo Swan we have recently run a workshop where the team have been discussing and coming up with ideas for our new values. When Indigo Swan 2.0 was launched we always knew we wanted a refresh and I am so glad we have. More on the new values over the next month. For now however I wanted to highlight one that wont be going anywhere. From the Swans to the board everyone agreed that our value of celebrating and embracing individuality had to stay. It is what makes us special, it is our Swan magic so to speak. All different with different personalities, interests, lives, but we all come together to try to create something that is different, something that we are proud of and someone our clients are proud to work with. By embracing all our teams individual traits we are able to create something brilliant, something that we can be proud of and learn from each other to be better each day. Not everyone may understand the responsibilities that come with being an Operations Director at a theater. From booking events to coordinating with the team, handling preproduction, managing volunteers, to overseeing marketing and all aspects of event execution, the role is multifaceted and demanding. One key aspect that often goes unnoticed is the ultimate goal: to ensure profitability. The pressure of making a profit can be overwhelming at times, with the weight of success or failure resting on my shoulders. It's a job that requires resilience and a unique mindset to navigate the highs and lows that come with it. While it's incredibly fulfilling to see a show run smoothly, the flip side can be disheartening when costs aren't covered. The inner battle is real, but the passion for this role is what drives me every day. It takes a special kind of determination to face challenges head-on and emerge stronger each time. The theater industry is demanding, yet immensely rewarding. The ability to persevere through the ups and downs is what sets us apart.
