This is rather interesting. I've had a lot of convos recently around what do customers want with loyalty (probably a reaction to what's going on with Starbucks). Not sure I've seen a restaurant brand launch a platform with a subscription fee to get in. Here's what Lazy Dog is laying out there: Welcome perk: Upon joining, receive a complimentary starter or dessert, with many options valued at around $15. Monthly benefit choice: Choose between a starter, dessert or TV Dinner every month, with several options that provide a value of $15 or more. Birthday reward: Celebrate your special day with a free starter or dessert. Surprise perks: Gain exclusive offers throughout the year, including complimentary food and beverages. Unlimited 10 percent off takeout orders. Priority seating: Reduce the wait time for every visit. Exclusive access to special events, tastings and culinary experiences. That "priority seating" point, in particular, flashes for me. What is going on with rewards programs in a world where suddenly "everybody has one?" In my view, the best path isn't to try to acquire occasional business through the avenue (as they say, people don't buy brands on discount they don't like), but rather really figure out who that lover of the brand is. And then reward them for engagement.
