Olympia Financial Group (OLY.TSX) has announced a $0.60 March monthly dividend, implying a forward annual dividend of $7.20. The company also reported record full-year financial results that beat earnings expectations, with $100M of revenue, $24M of net earnings, and EPS of $9.96. After selling off from all-time highs on profit-taking on Friday and concerns about potential declining interest rates on Monday, there is good news for the stock. Yesterday the BOC held interest rates steady and indicated that they are likely to decline at a much slower rate than expected. Since half of its revenue comes from interest on held assets, stable rates improve the earnings outlook for the OLY stock. The stock responded positively to the news yesterday. 🚀
In response to the favorable macro conditions, a covering analyst has increased the earnings forecast to an EPS of $10.38 and raised the fair value estimate for the stock to $125.00. OLY has provided an ROE of 97% over the past year, which is the highest among all of its peers, making it a strong investment opportunity (a 7% yield is nice, too!).
