Congratulations to Dr. Tonya Adkins and the team at HealthWorks for Northern Virginia on the launch of its #mammography program. A special shoutout to Assured Imaging, LLC - a Rezolut company, for being an instrumental partner in making this vision a reality. #HealthcareInnovation #Mammography #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #AssuredImaging

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia cut the ribbon on our new Radiology Suite at our Leesburg center at 163 Fort Evans Road NE. Detecting cancer early is critical to beginning treatment so that patients have the greatest chance for a successful outcome. By providing radiology services, HealthWorks can offer vital services to patients who might not otherwise be able to afford these offerings. “Providing diagnostic and screening mammograms and ultrasounds will expand access to many HealthWorks patients,” said Tonya Adkins, MD, CEO of HealthWorks. “Even with the discounted rates offered by local radiology providers, a large number of patients were unable to afford these screening and went without them for many years.” Our radiology services include: • 3D Screening Mammography – a three-dimensional x-ray picture of the breast that can detect early signs of breast cancer. • 3D Diagnostic Mammography – enhanced imaging using a 3-dimenstional x-ray to diagnose unusual breast changes, such as a lump, pain, nipple thickening or discharge, or a change in breast size of shape. • Advanced Diagnostic Ultrasound – a non-invasive, painless imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to identify gynecological disorders and provides views of a baby. We were pleased to be joined by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, Supervisor Kristen Umstattd, Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk, representatives from the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, and members of the HealthWorks Board of Directors.
