On July 17, 2024, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC) released new resources to support financial institutions in their secure cloud adoption journey. This suite of documents is a result of a year-long collaboration between the Financial and Banking Information Infrastructure Committee (FBIIC) and the FSSCC. Key Highlights: - Establishing a Common Lexicon: Standardized terms for CSPs and financial institutions. - Enhanced Information Sharing: Improved coordination for CSP examinations. - Best Practices: Guidelines for third-party risk management and secure cloud operations. - Transparency & Monitoring: Tools for better security by design in CSP environments. - Cloud Profile 2.0: A security implementation plan for financial institutions. “These efforts will help protect our financial system by ensuring secure and resilient cloud adoption,” said Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wally Adeyemo.
