Reflecting back on the first 90 days with #Rheem: To say it has been exciting would be an understatement. From joining the organization with a sole focus of supporting US Water operations to quickly pivoting to lead the North American integration of the Rheem Production System for both Air and Water it has been a roller coaster with certainly more highs than lows! There are three main areas that really stand out as key differentiators from other organizations. 1. #Respect for People - The Rheem team truly embodies this core value. Many companies will profess that they respect their people but their actions are simply incongruous with their words. The way that Rheem reflects this is showcased from the customer first mindset to the way they treat their employees. To speak on specifics, my team has been exceptionally welcoming. From onboarding swag to time spent sharing lessons learned and everything in between - Brian Gee is a remarkable individual who certainly deserves a special shout out (as truly the best counterpart I could ask for.) Thanks to Rufo I. Sanchez for the support as we shake things up and make significant changes. Thanks to Enrique Noche, MBA, MSc, Robert Petersen, and Alex Housten for leading the charge! 2. Willingness to #Adapt - As the world continues to change and adapt our businesses must meet or exceed that rate of change in order to avoid becoming obsolete. From process changes, role changes, technology, and equipment changes Rheem works at just the right speed to minimize risk but move quickly enough to embrace changes. The teams have been through many changes and their resilience and adaptability certainly stands out. 3. #Exceptionalism in all that we do - Rheem embodies this philosophy. From the products we design to the beauty of the facilities and Integrated Learning Centers this value is exemplified. We certainly don't let perfect get in the way of good, but we refuse to settle at good. Special thanks to all of the operations leaders for the remarkable work they are doing to lead the charge day in and day out. Thank you for opening your facilities and the chance to partner together and forge a lasting legacy. 🌟 Welcome to 2025, did you know 2025 is a perfect square? It equals 45^2. With all that is coming in 2025, it seems like a great metaphor for data & AI, combining high-quality data with intelligent systems that creates outcomes that are far greater than the sum of their parts. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 2025: ▹ Think exponentially: Small, consistent efforts in learning, data curation, and innovation build to transformational results. My greatest learning this year is, that Data Governance is a building block in AI Governance, just like Risk Management. It greatly depends on it's maturity to be successfully implemented. ▹ Focus on business value: This year, I’ll be diving deeper into AI governance, where good data is critical to enabling AI, and AI, in turn, drives real business impact. It’s not just about the tech; it’s about creating value that matters to end-users. ▹ Input defines output: The saying “garbage in, garbage out” still holds. High-quality data is the lifeblood of effective AI. In 2025, data governance will remain crucial to ensuring the right inputs for AI systems. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 2025? 2025 marks a turning point for AI governance as the EU AI Act starts the phases roll out: ➜ February: Bans on “unacceptable risk” AI systems take effect. ➜ May: The European Commission publishes compliance codes of practice. ➜ August: Rules for notified bodies assessing high-risk AI systems go live. Providers of general-purpose AI models must comply with new standards, national AI governance bodies are established, and penalties for non-compliance are enforced. 2025 promises to be a transformative year for AI & Data (Governance).
