🏆 Manchester City has clinched their fourth consecutive Premier League title, a remarkable achievement in the world of football. However, this victory is shrouded in controversy as the club remains under investigation for over 100 breaches of Premier League rules, including financial fair play regulations. ⚖️ While the on-field performance is commendable, the integrity of the league is at stake. The ongoing investigations cast a shadow over their triumph, raising questions about the fairness and transparency of their success. Such circumstances diminish the value of their title, making it appear hollow and unworthy of unqualified celebration. 🔍 It's crucial for the integrity of the sport that victories are achieved within the bounds of fair competition. Until the allegations are fully resolved, these titles should be marked with an asterisk, a reminder of the unresolved questions surrounding their legitimacy. ⚽️ As fans and stakeholders in the sport, we must advocate for a fair playing field where success is earned through merit and adherence to the rules. Only then can we truly celebrate the beauty and spirit of the game. This title should come with an asterisk! #PremierLeague #FootballIntegrity #FairPlay #ManchesterCity #SportsEthics #Football

Very interesting with the Talent Fee here….and initially, I’m not opposed to it and would be okay with a percentage of ticket sales going back to the players. My question is this: 102k in attendance for a home UT game. 10% talent fee goes to players. Does that only go to football players or does all “talent fees” go into a pot and they divide that among all of the UT sports and student-athletes?
Tennessee AD Danny White has informed football season ticket holders that prices will include a minimum 10% "talent fee" in 2025 to help pay players. "We want to be a leader in revenue sharing." Our story, with more details: gofos.co/4gxe4wz

Me last week, "Scottie Scheffler is really good at golf." Nelly Korda, "Hold my beer." 21,000+ fans show up at the Bell Centre to set the attendance record for women's hockey. Caitlin Clark's Fever jersey outsells entire Cowboys' roster (yay!). Fanatics says new stock won't arrive for a few months (boo!). Women continue to rock the #sportsbiz. But, I digress. We're here for the weekly Nice Guy/Gal awards. Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals). If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday. There are only 3 requirements: 1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate 2) you can only nominate one person per week 3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀 If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement. Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice. Have a great day, everyone. https://lnkd.in/edbkuGKU #network #sportsbiz #people #niceguy #networking #sportsmarketing

Passionate about sports and business, eager to connect with like-minded professionals. Seeking opportunities in sports management to contribute and grow. Let's connect!
Can this really be labeled as “revenue sharing”? Or is it simply passing the financial burden of paying players onto the fans under the guise of supporting athletes? Rather than claiming to be leaders in revenue sharing, a more honest statement could be: "We want to be leaders in creating a fan-supported funding model for athlete compensation" Instead of redistributing the university's revenue, adding a 10% surcharge on ticket holders, effectively transfers the financial responsibility to fans. Fans already support teams through ticket sales, merchandise, and donations. Adding an additional fee to cover player compensation feels more like a shift of responsibility than a progressive model of sharing the wealth What do you think? 🤔

At FC United of Manchester, we understand that while we fight for fairness in football and the rights of supporters, getting it right on the pitch is equally important. Adam Le Fondre’s signing demonstrates our commitment to building a competitive team while staying true to our values. Community football clubs like ours play a vital role in uniting people and fostering a sense of belonging. These clubs bring together individuals from all walks of life, promoting social inclusion and cohesion. Sport has the power to bridge divides, create friendships, and provide a shared sense of purpose and joy. It’s not just about the game; it’s about the community that forms around it. Research shows that community sports clubs significantly contribute to the social and economic well-being of their areas. They act as hubs of activity, engage residents, and foster volunteerism. The sense of hope and optimism that football provides can be transformative, especially in challenging times. Community clubs support mental and physical health, reduce social isolation, and offer opportunities for personal and social development. We are thrilled to announce the signing of Adam Le Fondre, known for his prolific goal-scoring record and impressive career. Last season, he showcased his talent in the Scottish Premier League with Hibernian. He has also made notable contributions with Sydney FC in the A-League, Bolton Wanderers in the English Football League, and Reading in the Premier League. Adam Le Fondre’s decision to join us reinforces the positive social impact we aim to achieve through football. As Adam himself said, “I'm absolutely delighted to join a club that stands for so much more than just football. FC United’s commitment to its community and its fans is something special, and I’m eager to contribute to both the club’s success on the pitch and its mission off it.” As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we invite businesses and organisations to explore opportunities for collaboration with FC United of Manchester. Partnering with us means amplifying our efforts to create a positive social impact. Together, we can extend the reach of our community-focused initiatives, fostering inclusion, promoting mental and physical health, providing educational and skills opportunities, and building a brighter future. If you’re interested in discovering how a partnership with FC United can benefit both our community and your organisation, please DM me or email me at nick.boom@fc-utd.uk.
