What does inclusion at work look like for First Nations workers? Despite growing support for First Nations rights in Australia since our first #InclusionIndex in 2017, First Nations workers’ experience with exclusion and inclusion at work remains concerning. First Nation workers continue to experience high levels of exclusion and less respect at work in 2023. Furthermore, workplace exclusion is high from sources both inside and outside an organisation. Make sure to read the latest Inclusion @ Work Index now for more findings and a case for D&I action at work. 👉 https://ow.ly/3gey50RgPci #TheCaseForInclusion #InclusionAtWork #InclusionIndex #DiversityandInclusion #DiversityEquityInclusion #GenderEquality #GenderEquity #Allyship #BusinessAustralia #HumanResources #Leadership #InclusiveLeadership #InclusionMatters #DiversityCouncilAustralia

On #InternationalWomenDay, I'm thrilled to announce the formal launch of Upwardly Global's new initiative: “Women’s Economic Power.” This groundbreaking project will focus and dedicate more resources to fostering immigrant women of color’s economic inclusion and social empowerment. #WomensHistoryMonth We are honored to be working alongside Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, and with support from Melinda French Gates’ Pivotal Ventures For two decades, Upwardly Global has seen little attention paid to the intersection of immigrant and people of color rights and workforce/economic inclusion — specifically #womenempowerment. As Upwardly Global continues to shape and transform the immigrant #workforce sector, we seek to create a home for immigrant women of color to prioritize women’s economic mobility. Our goal is to address the systemic barriers that keep immigrant women like Farzana from accessing economic mobility by building skills, expanding access to credentials, and addressing social and occupational segregation. Upwardly Global’s Women's Economic Power initiative will rest on three central pillars: ➡ Workforce Development: We plan to equip immigrant, refugee, and asylee women with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive in the workforce. Through training programs, mentorship, peer networks, and skill-building initiatives, we aim to break down barriers and unlock pathways to economic independence. ➡ Policy Change: We recognize the critical role that policy plays in shaping opportunities for marginalized communities. Through advocacy efforts and collaboration with policymakers, we will work to remove systemic barriers such as access to childcare and the gender wage gap, and advocate for policies that promote gender equity and justice in the immigrant rights space. ➡ Paradigm Shifts: Our initiative seeks to change existing norms and create a more equitable landscape for immigrant women of diverse backgrounds. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and amplifying women’s voices, we strive to redefine societal perceptions and empower women to reach their full potential. Join us in championing refugee, asylee, and immigrant women of color’s economic empowerment. Let’s create a future where every woman has the knowledge, resources, and support needed to define her career and achieve her dreams. More details coming soon. #internationalwomensday #womenshistorymonth #economicempowerment

A graduate of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin, interested in child development, mental health, counselling, family support, gender based sexual / domestic and child abuse and ethnic inequalities.
While gender-based inequalities in the employment sector are prominent and concerning, inequalities of migrant women in the Irish Labour Market exceedingly surpass any imagination. Coming from people's perceptions of migrant women and discrimination policies and practices often deflate and crush their hopes of being and having equal opportunities as everybody else. No matter how intelligent and capable and how many qualifications they hold, their struggles and disadvantages are double: being a woman and a migrant! But then again, migrant women have shown their strength and resilience over and over again by pushing through any unjust treatment. To all migrant women, never give up your fight, dreams, and goals! Be heard and seen through this research by voicing your experiences in the Irish Labour Market #equality #opportunities #inclusion #humanrights #migrantvoices.
Don’t forget to take part in our survey open for you to Share your experiences and challenges in the employment sector through our survey. Your voice matters for better inclusion in the Irish Labour Market. Open to migrant women, second-generation migrants and employers! #equality #inclusion #migrantvoices #survey Link available in our link tree- https://t.co/4wtNA9HCdJ
