Its origin is linked to commercial goals. In 2005, a company called Sky Travel coined the term as part of its advertising campaign. Furthermore, this concept incorporates a mathematical formula to determine the "most depressing" day of the year, taking into account factors like weather and post-Christmas expenses. In conclusion, as mental health professionals, we must be cautious about what we share, given the sensitive nature of those seeking help.
