Residing in the elevated spaces of a high-rise building mirrors the nurturing process of guiding children through their academic journey. Just as the towering structure stands firm, providing a unique perspective on life, fostering the growth and ambitions of children demands patience and steadfast support. Both situations require a solid foundation, an understanding of the gradual ascent, and a commitment to seeing potential reach new heights. It's a shared journey where the panoramic view from above becomes a metaphor for the broader perspective we gain as teachers, mentors, or caretakers, witnessing the gradual development of young minds striving for success and realizing their ambitions. 🌆🌇🏙🌃🗽 Read more, here: https://lnkd.in/gk8HgK2Y

More than ever! We have always known that our Advocate Mentors play a critical role in their mentees’ success. They help their students with homework, coach them in essential life skills, and open their minds to new experiences and opportunities. Teachers play a similar role in students’ lives, but with teacher turnover rates (WSJ “Why Teachers Are Still Leaving the Profession,” Mar. 4, 2024) still too high post-pandemic, the consistent presence of our Advocate Mentors is now more important than ever. Inconsistent teacher presence contributes to lower student test scores, research shows, so consistent presence means better grades! We see this kind of impact every year in our students’ success rates—our Advocate Mentors make a difference! To sponsor a child or an Advocate Mentor, click here: https://loom.ly/6VgRTNs

Is this the future of education? Would you consider enrolling your child in a SLANT-based school? Advocates of no-excuses policies in schools argue that progressive, child-centered approaches that spread in the 1970s caused a behavioral crisis, reduced learning, and hindered social mobility. The policy is called “Slant” (Sit up, Lean forward, Ask and answer questions, Nod your head, and Track the speaker). The argument in favor of SLANT? Wealthy children can afford to waste time at school because “their parents take them to museums and art galleries,” In contrast, for children from poorer backgrounds, “the only way you’re going to know about some Roman history is if you’re in your school learning.” Should we instead advocate for a balanced approach that offers all children, regardless of their economic status, access to an environment that fosters discipline alongside creativity and freedom? #FutureOfEducation #SLANTSchool #NoExcusesPolicy #DisciplineInSchools #CreativityInEducation #EducationalReform #HolisticDevelopment

Here are some tips to keep attendance on track: 🎯 Schools: Foster a welcoming and safe environment to help students feel excited about learning. 👪 Parents/Carers: Establish consistent routines and open lines of communication with teachers. We’re excited to see how the schools and students we support progress next half term. What has been your school’s biggest attendance win so far?
