Richard Radcliffe’s Post

I have just listened to an American webinar on reviving generosity led by very influential sector leaders. Households giving to charity down 15%. Number of USA donors claiming tax benefits 9%. 43% of the population do not trust charities. Crisis? And yet not one mention of legacy giving. In fact one speaker focused on charities needing to gain new young donors. In the middle of a cash crisis? When retention of the young is so low? What about older donors who can afford to give now and in their Wills. Legacy giving is due to double globally in the next 20 years. It is perhaps time not to think of the USA charity sector as being more advanced than U.K. #afp #case #bequests #philanthropy #legacyfundraising #fundraising #donors

The utter, pardon my language, bullshit out there is unreal. I just gave a presentation. Talked about legacy giving, monthly giving, and retention. It's what we focus on in our programming. The trust factor is critical, especially now. I mention it practically every time I present. I feel like I'm talking into a void.
