🚀 Dreaming for an RTX 5090 to run Llama 3.1 405B Parameters Model😭 The newly announced RTX 5090 is revolutionizing the world of AI and large language model computation. 🤯 Built on the cutting-edge NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, this powerhouse GPU boasts: -Fifth-generation Tensor Cores: These cores are optimized for AI workloads, delivering up to 4x the performance of previous generations. -32GB of GDDR7 memory: This large amount of memory allows the 5090 to handle large AI and LLM models. 🚀 With up to 2x the performance of its predecessor, the RTX 5090 is designed to handle the most demanding AI workloads with ease, making it a game changer for researchers, developers, and enthusiasts alike. But let's be real – not everyone can afford this beast of a GPU. 😅 That's where my trusty RX 570 comes in. 💪 While it may not have the same jaw-dropping specs as the RTX 5090, my RX 570 has been a reliable workhorse for running models locally and handling daily use cases. It's proof that you don't always need the latest and greatest hardware to get the job done. 👍 Loved the new Superman trailer btw, can't wait🦸♂️😍 #AI #MachineLearning #GPUs #RTX5090 #RX570 #LLM #LLAMA #NVIDIA

"What kind of computer do I need to use Dotmatics M-Star Simulations?" Since it's a GPU-native solver that runs exclusive on NVIDIA CUDA technology, I typically recommend starting out using an RTX 4090 or an RTX 6000 Ada. A pretty low barrier to entry, considering the sheer amount of physics you can do on a DESKTOP. "Why is the RTX 6000 Ada more expensive?" The RTX 6000 Ada has twice the RAM, so that means double the lattice points. The Ada also comes with ECC (error checking and correction) -- necessary to prevent RAM errors when running day/week-long simulations. The lattice Boltzmann method is a statistical mechanics approach to solving fluid dynamics using a Cartesian grid, so the entire solution must fit into GPU memory to achieve INCREDIBLE speed-ups. In the chart, MUPS = million updates per second, or how many times we can update the discrete lattice per second. What's interesting is the 4090 has seemingly better performance than the 6000 Ada, especially considering it has less CUDA cores. But then we look at the MUPS/WATT. The 4090 is clearly designed to run at max RPM (and the massive heatsink proves it) while the 6000 Ada is much more efficient from a power vs flops stand point. #nvidia #hpc #gpucomputing #gpu #mstar #cfd
