Google is finally rolling out its next core update. There have been A LOT of sites negatively impacted over the last year from the last updates. Google says they are trying to right the ship: "This latest update takes into account the feedback we've heard from some creators and others over the past few months. As always, we aim to connect people with a range of high quality sites, including small or independent sites that are creating useful, original content, when relevant to users' searches. This is an area we'll continue to address in future updates. This update also aims to better capture improvements that sites may have made, so we can continue to show the best of the web." Let's hop for the best! https://lnkd.in/gbA66f-h

Excerpt from Google's August 2024 Core Update. "This latest update takes into account the feedback we've heard from some creators and others over the past few months. I hope the good independent publishers get their share of traffic after a massive hit from last time. #google #coreupdate

Yesterday, Google announced their August Core Algorithm update. Like all Core Updates, an improvement or decline in visibility is not necessarily a sign that something is wrong with your site or content—even if you see a big shift. As a business, you definitely shouldn't take any drastic action while it's still rolling out. If you decline and the updating is still rolling out—wait until the update is finished. If you're still down after the update, then you may want an expert to review your site. What's absolutely crucial to note though: Google gets it wrong. If you read this announcement, Google says they're acting upon feedback. That is an acknowledgement their algorithm wasn't doing a good job of rewarding small publishers, and it wasn't good at adjusting to sites previously flagged as bad, but who made genuine improvements. I've seen algorithm updates where a brand tanked, but everything with their website was absolutely fine. I said they would recover with the next algorithm update, and they did. A decrease in visibility does not mean you've done something wrong, it could mean Google did something wrong. For this reason, the best approach is always to focus on your end user. Let the algorithm catch up with you, not the other way around. https://lnkd.in/gmwhV6Wf

According to John Mueller, this update focuses on boosting content from small and independent publishers. Google has taken into account concerns from the March update and is now fine-tuning its algorithm to support websites that may have been unfairly down-ranked. We’ll stay tuned for more in-depth analysis as the rollout continues. #googleupdates https://lnkd.in/gWaJdz53

The SERPs have been going crazy this past week, and thankfully, Google has just announced their latest algorithm update for August 2024. This update reflects the feedback Google has received from creators and others over the past few months. Their main goal remains the same: "to connect people with high-quality websites, including small or independent ones that produce valuable, original content, when relevant to users' searches". This update also aims to recognise and reward improvements that websites have made so that we can continue to highlight the best content on the web." As always, try not to stress—there's nothing that can be done till the update has finished rolling out, and even a week after that to let the dust settle. If your site moves a couple of places, Google suggests leaving it, but a greater drop, then a review of yours and your competitors pages is advised Till then, just try to stay calm! #Google #AlgorithmUpdate #SEOAdvice #GoogleAlgorithmUpdate #CoreUpdate

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 😰Another Google algorithm update has just finished launching. It focused on rewarding high-quality content in search results — an ongoing goal for many of Google's updates. I'm curious to hear your experiences. Have you noticed any changes in search results or rankings? Did your site benefit, or did you see a drop in rankings? It's interesting to note that Google took feedback from the community more seriously after the negative impacts of last year's September update. Many small and independent publishers were negatively affected from that update, some unfairly. While some sites have seen recovery with this recent update, it's important to note that it can take time to bounce back from significant ranking drops. Only time will tell how much they'll recover. Let me hear your thoughts about the recent update. 💡
