If I ask you what is the optimal way to pack 17 squares within a larger square, would you imagine this to be the answer?! Solutions to tough questions are not always neat and clean. This is how I perceive decarbonization of human emissions to be. We need to address things as they are, not how the easy-to-recall heuristics (e.g., "electrification is for low temperatures, hydrogen for high temperatures") tend to lead us. The devil is, indeed, in the details. https://lnkd.in/eCQY2cgF

I've often heard skepticism around the true environmental impact of electric vehicles, but recent data paints a clearer picture. Analysis considering regional production and usage reveals that even in countries where fossil fuels dominate electricity generation, EVs still surpass traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) in reducing emissions over the course of 250,000 kilometers. EVs are indeed reducing CO2 emissions—a win for the planet. Link below. https://lnkd.in/dihHrJFS

Are EVs really the monsters some people make them out to be? A case of lies, damn lies and statistics? Or will the coming years see way more improvement and even better numbers? I remain optimistic and will read even more on this topic.
How polluting really are EVs? See for yourself. You really cannot compete with zero tailpipe emissions. Bear also in mind how new this technology is, and how much scope for optimisation there is, as compared to ICE. Source: https://lnkd.in/gucFzft7
