On World Menopause Day, we’re proud to announce our commitment to becoming a Menopause Friendly employer. The menopause affects all of us, whether we’re experiencing it ourselves, or know someone who is. We’ve already made positive strides in this area by introducing our regular ‘Menopause Meets’ sessions, publishing a refreshed Menopause policy detailing all the support on offer, and opening up the conversation to educate, build awareness, and help people feel comfortable to ask for support. #WorldMenopauseDay2024

🌸 Today is World Menopause Day 🌸 Here are some statistics that prove menopause isn't just 'a woman's issue'. It is in-fact an everyone issue and something you should consider educating yourself and your team about. It's about time we had these important conversations, and ensured that menopause is recognised and supported. #WorldMenopauseDay #InclusiveLeadership #BreakingTheStigma #MenopauseAwareness

Half of the world will experience menopause at some point in their lifetime, and at Consensus we're on a mission to make sure everyone feels comfortable and able to talk about their experiences, creating an environment where people feel confidence in asking for help when they need it. Following our Menopause Meet-ups, our colleagues said they'd feel more comfortable talking about menopause and asking for support if they had an official policy - which is why we've introduced a new Menopause Policy. Creating a positive and open environment between Consensus and someone affected by the menopause, the policy includes adjustments that offer support and flexibility, creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for all colleagues. As part of improved DEI initiatives, Labour propose to introduce a Menopause Action Plan. The policy for businesses exceeding 250 employees intends to transform attitudes towards menopause… the exact details of which remain unknown (for now). It’s a subject that I’m deeply passionate about. Not only supporting menopausal employees, but opening up the wider conversation to include leaders and colleagues. Thus, creating a truly inclusive work environment where everyone gets the support and understanding they need. Not to mention that it benefits life in general too. Everyone knows someone who will go through menopause – so any support, education or training is no bad thing. Just recently I’ve taken our menopause workshops into some amazing pro-active organisations who are already implementing menopause-specific benefits with immediate positive impacts. There are still some spaces left if you would like me to bring one or both workshops into your organisation this month (... or any time of year) for Menopause Awareness Month. More and more employers are recognising the importance of becoming menopause friendly. It starts with wanting to have an open conversation with employees to understand what support they need and involving them in the actions you take as a result. It’s a continuous conversation with leaders, managers, and all employees to help individuals get the support they need, when and how they need it, in order to thrive at work and at home. World Menopause Day, is an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come in achieving this aim. If you haven’t yet started on the journey, don’t think that missing the opportunity to do so today means you have to wait till next year. There are very small ways to start the conversation to becoming Menopause Friendly any day so why not start tomorrow. If you’d like to discuss more, DM me and I’d be happy to share my experience or why not check out more at The Menopause Friendly Accreditation. #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseFriendly
This World Menopause Day we are celebrating over 100 organisations achieving The Menopause Friendly Accreditation. This is an industry-recognised mark of excellence for menopause at work, and we are so proud these of the work these organisations have done to achieve this. 🎉 So much more than a tick box exercise, promise or pledge, Menopause Friendly Accreditation means that as employers, they have demonstrated to an Independent Panel of experts they are a great place to work for those experiencing menopause. To gain the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, they had to meet strict criteria across these five key pillars: culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment. Being menopause friendly changes the culture of a workplace and the lives of its employees which is most definitely something to celebrate on World Menopause Day! #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseFriendly #MenopauseAwareness
