Reflecting on an Inspiring Week: Honored and Motivated This week, I had the privilege of attending the AUSA (Association of the United States Army) annual meeting, where military families, government leaders, and industry come together to support the mission and people of the U.S. Army. While there, a new friend I met, knowing I was planning to visit my brother at Arlington National Cemetery, suggested I visit Section 60. It was a deeply moving experience to stand in Section 60, the resting place of many of our brave service members who gave their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. I found myself reflecting on the young men and women—many the age of my own son—who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It was a sobering honor to stand among them. The visit took on even greater meaning when my friend shared that many of these fallen soldiers were his comrades, friends he had served alongside. He spoke about how some of these losses might have been prevented with the use of Robotic and Autonomous Vehicles in the field. That’s why I feel more motivated than ever. At New Eagle, our Raptor® platform supports Robotic and Autonomous Systems for many DoD and industry suppliers. As we continue to advance this technology, my hope is that future soldiers will have better, safer equipment that is Raptor-enabled. This experience has reignited my purpose. Starting tomorrow, I will continue to improve Raptor, enhancing its documentation, and exploring even more ways it can serve the U.S. Army, Marines, and our entire Armed Services. #ArlingtonNationalCemetery #Section60 #HonorTheFallen #2ndBattalion10thMarines #USMarines #USArmy #USAirForce #AUSA2024 #ArmyFamily #RaptorEMBD #NewEagle #ModelBasedDevelopment #Forterra #JETCO
Richard, what a nicely written and touching story and commitment! I appreciate your efforts and for those who have served in any way, especially our veterans.
Passion w/ a Purpose Richard! Nicely articulated.
Thank you for visiting Section 60 while you were in DC, Rich. For those who served in the last two decades, there is no more sobering reminder of the cost of freedom than to see row upon row of our friends’ names etched in stone.
Very well articulated Rich and Raptor certainly will continue to assist with the development of autonomous vehicles and robots.
