Rick Salmeron, CFP®’s Post

Someone needs to throw a penalty flag at the NFL. This latest play – a $110 million deal with Peacock to exclusively stream their first playoff game – really makes me wonder. Is the heart of their strategy their fans, or is it just the gains of a massive payout? As a successful businessperson, I spend time with many other successful entrepreneurs. In that business arena, the goal is to make clients feel they're getting the star treatment, not leaving them feeling sidelined. And this move by the NFL? Seems more benchwarmer than MVP to me. Success in business is about valuing clients, making them feel like the champions they are. We, as entrepreneurs and seasoned business leaders, should focus on nurturing those faithful relationships and creating memorable moments with those that matter most: our loyal clients. What do you think?

If Peacock was smarter, they would have paired this game with a free preview week - so we could all watch the game AND check out what else Peacock has to offer. Instead, we're all just POed at Goodell, the NFL, AND Peacock. Seems like a lose-lose to me.

I found NBC’s brag about the record number of viewers to be hilarious. It’s a high profile playoff game that you cannot watch any other way. ??? I’m pretty sure no one cared about whatever else was even on the standard network channel at 7pm on a Saturday in January.

1000% agree with this. This is a $$ grab, and that's all…apparently, the gazillion dollars Goodell will get paid this year isn't enough.
