Last week, the Ricola US team took part in our annual «day of giving back» event at South Mountain Reservation. This 2,112-acre nature reserve within the Essex County Park System offers the local community numerous walking trails, a reservoir, and a waterfall, and it is home to various species of birds, turtles, reptiles, and even fox. This year, we were honored to be the official «Ricola Zoo Crew», focusing on clearing litter and invasive plant species along the Orange Reservoir walking path, adjacent to the popular Turtle Back Zoo. Despite being a small, but mighty team, our dedicated Zoo Crew collected nearly 57 pounds of litter and invasive plants and even performed a turtle rescue (thank you Connor)! To top off the beautiful, warm, and sunny morning, we had the unique opportunity to feed the Zoo’s giraffes a healthy snack of romaine lettuce. To conclude our day, the «Zoo Crew» gathered for lunch at McCloone’s Boathouse, a charming spot overlooking the park’s reservoir. https://lnkd.in/etSm3nHH
