'There is no question this is the way forward.' A powerful statement from Ben Dobbin about CleverCow. Mark Peart joined Ben on Rural QLD Today this morning to talk about CleverCow and what it means for the agriculture industry. As Mark and Ben discuss, it doesn’t matter where you sit in the climate debate, this is coming - the targets, the regulations - what we need to do as an industry is back solutions, like CleverCow, that support our farmers and allow them to monetise their efforts. Really worth a listen - you can access the full segment below. If you would like to get involved with CleverCow, our crowdsourced funding campaign is now live on Birchal: https://lnkd.in/gPyPHSR3 *Always consider the general CSF risk warning and offer document before investing.

Mix of complementary and conflicting perspectives on the panel “Role of agro-ecological farming in transition to net-zero” at Oxford Real Farming Conference Nice to have some juicy conversations. Chair Rosie Boycott, Lord Deben, Kyle Lischak (ClientEarth) and Chris Smaje. My question to the panel was around “The missing marine” - shellfish and seaweed have huge potential for both food and climate benefits. How can we do more to connect across the landscape and seascapes of the Uk so policy and infrastructure for both regenerative-aquaculture and agriculture are maximised? Main response was around ‘banning the bad’ (eg bottom trawling). …I think we blue-food advocates have more to do gaining traction for the positive possibilities too.

Loading... Research Roadshow. This year's theme is: CLIMATE-DATA SCIENCE-WEEDS. We will cover topics of understanding weather forecasting, best use of data science to optimise production practices, weed management, carbon sequestration ESGs and many more. In this Second Instalment of the Research Roadshow, we will start of in the WC, then head to MP, FS and NW. Excited to share our latest research with farming communities and also get to hear from the farmers where the research need is. The main aim is to ensure farmers continue farming sustainably and profitably. The Research Roadshow is funded by ABSA and John Deere Financial. #Grain #Foodsecurity #AgriculturalResearch #CropProduction #ZeroHunger #SustainableFarming #CapacityBuilding #ClimateChange #FutureOfFood

Celebrating a shared success with Elizabeth Follett, Jo Cable and Catherine Wilson of seeing our ‘Working for the environment: farmer attitudes towards sustainable farming actions in rural Wales, UK’ paper published in the springer journal. It was a great follow on project from the ‘farmer led approach’ #waterstandard with NFU Cymru. Here’s hoping the insights of our findings goes some way to supporting change for industry in the future. https://lnkd.in/engWgir3

An excellent step towards helping farmers, understand and adapt their farm's climate impacts. Having two different answer can be useful, when you can demonstrate, and justify, how you have arrived at different results. I hope collaboration supports the discourse of how to accurately holistically measure, varied and diverse, farm enterprises.
