You Need to Hear This Today As a career coach with years of experience helping professionals land their dream roles, I can't stress enough how powerful LinkedIn can be in your job search. But it’s not just about having a profile; it’s about using it strategically. Here’s how you can harness the full potential of LinkedIn to find jobs and build a network that opens doors for your career. LinkedIn’s Job Search Filters LinkedIn offers advanced filters to help you find the most relevant opportunities, but many people overlook these tools. Use specific keywords like job titles or skills, filter by location or choose “Remote” if you're open to working from home. Tailor your search by experience level, target specific companies, and use the Date Posted filter to see the latest jobs. Finally, specify the job type you’re after, whether full-time, part-time, or contract. Most people miss out on LinkedIn's full potential, including features like InMail and various filters. Don’t let that be you. Need help with your LinkedIn profile or CV? “I’m not getting jobs” “I’ve applied to a 100-jobs already” “The market is tough so I am not going to apply now” These have been common conversations I’ve had with some international students. With others: “The market is tough but I am trying a new approach to applications” “I am setting up coffee chats with people” “I am upskilling myself to have a better CV” The difference is INTENT. If you are an international student struggling to find a job in Canada, Your intent could be the reason between you landing a job and not. Do these instead: 1. Evaluate your strategy: What’s working and what’s not? If something is not working, change your approach to applying. 2. Build a network: Majority of applicants land jobs through referrals 3. Reach out to people to learn about them and not just to ask for a referral This won’t guarantee you a job but having the right intent gets you one step closer.

Let’s continue talking about #job #searching: ✅ First of all, continue working on your CV and portfolio. If you try to find a new jod in Canada, prepare a quality resume (cv) in line with Canadian standards, emphasizing your skills and experience. Add all your projects and achievements, don’t forget about the #feedbacks from your colleagues from your home country. You have been working on your #reputation so many years! ✅ There are lots of typical interview questions which you can find online: #communication and the ability to #sell your #skills are the most important skills in job searching. Don’t be afraid to start your experience in different volunteer organizations: there you can gain such experience. Be confident ! ✅ When I was working in the university in Ukraine, it was very popular to gain a #postgraduate #education. #Start learning here!: make these processes parallel. Learning in Canadian universities will also improve your English! #Win/Win. ✅ Local work experience is number one: don’t be afraid to start from volunteering or internships. ✅One good advice: write a list of companies you'd like to work for and answer why. What attracts you? After finding exact answers on your questions, it would be much more simpler to answer in an interview: #why would you like to work there. The most important thing for the elppyer is #motivation. The employer always wants to hire a motivated employee who is ready to be valuable to the company. ✅ Don’t be afraid to be rejected: it was just an interview and your new experience. You will obviously find something better! ✅ Use all your opportunities! Improve yourself! Meet new people. Live your best life. Don’t be afraid. #Love life. Love the process. It is just a process! Work with your #social #media accounts, share with your followers with all useful information. And be #kind to everyone. ✅ Never give up. Look forward and go ahead every day. Companies need time to respond to your application. Use all your #backroad in achieving your goals. Good luck 🤞

🌍 The Three Common Pitfalls of International Career Seekers 🌍 I’ve noticed some patterns among candidates aiming for an international career but struggling to land their next opportunity: 1️⃣ Self-Doubt and Imposter Syndrome Many candidates don’t believe in themselves. They feel like impostors and don’t apply for all the roles they should. Confidence is key—if you don’t believe in yourself, why should a potential employer? 2️⃣ Lack of Preparation and Research They don’t invest enough time in crafting their portfolio or polishing their presentation skills. They neglect learning English and fail to connect with people or research the key roles and requirements in the country they’re targeting. It’s crucial to know what skills are in demand and how you fit in. 3️⃣ Reactive Approach They’re always playing catch-up, gathering information, licenses, and documents only after realizing they need them. They don’t anticipate or prepare in advance for opportunities that could be just around the corner. 🚀 Take charge of your career! Believe in yourself, prepare thoroughly, and always stay one step ahead! Your dream role could be closer than you think. 💪
