Always yield to them before entering. 🔹 Choose the Correct Lane: If you're turning right, stay in the right lane; if you're going straight or left, use the left lane. 🔹 Signal Your Exit: Let others know when you plan to leave the roundabout by using your right turn signal. 🔹 No Stopping: Roundabouts are designed for continuous flow. If you miss your exit, complete another loop – don't stop or reverse. 🔹 Pedestrians: They have the right of way at crosswalks. Slow down and be prepared to stop. 🔹 Cyclists: They can choose to ride through the roundabout or walk their bikes across using crosswalks. These investments will help us build a California that fits every traveler, including those on foot, on bicycles, and on other personal mobility devices.” –Tony Tavares, Caltrans Director This just in! Caltrans will spend approximately $930 million over the next four years to improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure throughout the state, including 265 miles of new and improved bike lanes on state highways and the addition of more than 1,300 safety elements by mid-2028. Safety elements featured in the plan include more visible and separated bike lanes, ADA-accessible curb ramps, better signage, and upgraded signalization.
