Pharmacy Technicians deserve better. Almost anyone can get the skills to work in a pharmacy or be a book manager. But to thrive takes a special personality. The problem is companies are hiring people with the credentials but not the personality. I understand there will be combinations of personality traits but these jobs need people trained in and confirmed as people with a growth mindset. I am shocked that these jobs do not require personality tests. When I started working in the 90s an Interview included asking if you wanted to meet the team or people you would be working with, you'd be able to ask them questions and kind of feel them out. I don't hear that happening now a days. The frustration is real. Good techs who can respond to sick patients with compassion and professionalism and understanding that fully, I imagine are leaving because I'm sure working with techs that complain about working and servicing patients doesn't make the atmosphere any better. Literally, they are why you even have a job. It is so sad. I understand this rant, but I can't understand the rants against the patient who's driving you nuts at work and you don't like doing your job etc.. The amount of Techs that I see mocking patients on their own personal time (they literally don't get paid to think about work at that time) is very disturbing.

THE FIRST RULE OF MEDICINE: DO NO HARM The first thing that you learn in any medical professional training is to do no harm. EMS medics have a "duty to act" and can be held responsible in both criminal and civil proceedings for "breach of duty". You may recall that earlier this year, I called publicly for criminal charges to be filed against the medics that failed to treat Tyre Nichols: https://lnkd.in/gxUb28qT Regardless of the outcome, this case simply going to trial is a landmark, and should send a clear signal to all EMS staff and organizations that failure to provide the "standard of care" may result in more than just losing thier job or getting sued. Don't get me wrong, nobody is more sympathetic to first responders than I, particularly EMS. I spent over 25 years wearing many different uniforms and was responsible for training hundreds of medics and thousands of EMTs over my career. It's a tough and thankless job.
