Fort Worth Education Partnership's latest report highlights the city’s urgent challenges in schools. Only 35% of Fort Worth students are meeting grade-level standards, and more than half are unable to read at grade level. This isn’t just a school issue; it’s a citywide crisis with serious implications for the future workforce and community. FWEP is dedicated to addressing these challenges, but it’s clear that collective action is needed to make a real difference. At City Fund, we are proud to support FWEP and other organizations that are making meaningful changes in their cities. #Education #FortWorth #CommunityImpact 📰: https://bit.ly/3SNlBwV

We have published our first Impact report! It highlights some of the challenges that young people in Bedford Borough face, then goes on to describe how we’ve met those challenges over the past year. We’ve made so much progress since our launch though our three foundation projects – community grant-making panels, the World of Work Experience scheme, and our mentoring programme. We’re so excited to tell you about the impact we’ve made so far and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our founding partners bpha, The Connelly Foundation, The Gale Trust, The Harpur Trust, LOUSADA PLC, The Panacea Society, St John’s Hospital Trust and The Worshipful Company of Founders, mentor delivery partner 4YP UK Ltd, as well as all the organisations we funded, and the fantastic volunteer mentors and parent panel members! Clearly, high-quality child care is a key component in any family's personal economy - but it's also a key factor in a statewide economy, neighborhood success, community sustainability and wealth equity. LISC Rhode Island provides specialized technical assistance and funding to child care providers -- both family-based and center-based -- so that children have a good educational foundation and parents are supported in their workplace needs. LISC has developed a new resource for Business Development Organizations (BDOs) to provide important background on child care industry and the challenges that many programs face. This resource will help BDOs, partners and funders understand the child care industry, the challenges, and how providers can become more financially sustainable. https://lnkd.in/eJ2EaTBz

🔓 Unlocking the Power of Collective Learning in Grant Rounds: What Could Governments and Other Funders Do Differently? Grant rounds have great potential for collaboration, yet too often they offer limited opportunity for grant awardees to learn together or connect energy and ambition in ways that could lead to change at greater levels of scale. Initiated in 2023, Paul Ramsay Foundation's Open Grant Round for Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Support offered the space for participating service providers to share their experiences and practices, build new relationships, and develop insights and ideas about what shifts are needed for the field to thrive. Find out more about what we learned about the DFV field here, and our collective recommendations for transformation 🔎https://lnkd.in/gej4qTs9
