Know Your People, Know Your Success Happy Monday, tech enthusiasts! 💻✨ As we kick off another week, let's take a moment to reflect on the power of knowing your team. Whether you're building the frontend or structuring the backend, success starts with understanding the people you work with. 👉 Do you know the strengths of your team members? 👉 Have you built an environment where everyone feels valued and understood? 👉 Are you leveraging each person's unique abilities to fuel your progress? It’s more than just coding and sprints. It’s about collaboration, trust, and mutual respect. The best teams are those that communicate, adapt, and grow together. This week, let's commit to building stronger connections with our colleagues. A team that knows each other can conquer any challenge – no code bug too big, no project too complicated. So, let’s get started. Know your people, because together, we can achieve greatness. Teamwork is everything! It’s not just about the tasks at hand, but understanding each other’s strengths and working towards a common goal. Blessed week ahead #WomenInTech #Teamwork #TechCommunity

How it started vs. how it's going: meet Mark, our longest-serving team member 👏 In 16 years (and 8 months, to be exact) Mark has seen a lot of change at TAG—including being around long before we even *were* 'TAG'. He used his skills in many areas of the business before eventually landing in the Office of the CTO: "I was never interested in moving into management, so my progression has been through all different areas of the company instead. When I started, we were so small that everyone mucked in on whatever needed doing—I've worked on all kinds of things that were once out of my comfort zone. Consultancy, sales, marketing, documentation, preparing RFPs, system admin, everything! In my time at TAG, I've not only developed in my career, but also raised two kids, and I can confidently say that working here offers freedom and flexibility that is second to none." Cheers to 16 years (and we hope many more), Mark! 🎉 #TheAdaptavistGroup #HowItStarted #HowItsGoing

⏲ Let me take you back to a pivotal moment in my journey at DotConnect. The company was growing, but something felt off. The business was moving forward, but the energy within the team didn’t match where I wanted us to go. Our culture had become reactive, and in some areas, toxic 🚩 I knew we needed to realign around a new set of values—ones that weren’t just about hitting goals but about how we operated, how we showed up for each other, and what kind of company we wanted to build. So, we crafted a vision that prioritized mindfulness, growth, and well-being 🙌🏼 ➡️ At a quarterly meeting, I laid it all out. I was excited—finally, we had clarity. But not everyone shared that excitement. ► Some were fully on board, thrilled about this healthier way of working. But others were hesitant, even skeptical. I could see it in their eyes..."𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳." It was disheartening at first 😅I wanted everyone to be aligned with the new direction, but I had to accept that not everyone would fit the new culture we were creating. And that’s okay. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵. It doesn’t mean they’re bad employees, and it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong 🤷🏻♀️ It just means the company’s evolution no longer matches where they are. That’s natural. 🔹People grow, companies grow, and sometimes, they no longer grow together. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆. I had to accept that in order to live out our values, we needed a team fully aligned with them. That meant tough conversations and, in some cases, parting ways with people. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆—𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 💯 By letting go of those who didn’t align, we created space for people who truly believed in our vision ✨ We began hiring not just for skills, but for alignment with our values. → The team became more cohesive, the energy shifted, and suddenly, it felt like we were all rowing in the same direction. ❊❊❊ 🟠 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆. When you hold onto people who don’t share the same values, you’re not helping them, and you’re certainly not helping the business. You’re holding onto comfort, not real alignment. As leaders, our job is to create an environment where the team is 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. That doesn’t mean every step is smooth or without conflict, but it does mean we face challenges together, with shared values. Don’t water down your vision just to keep everyone happy. You’re not running a popularity contest... your role is to lead your company toward its fullest potential 🙏🏻

Junior Team Member: “This is a problem, we should fix it.” Senior Team Member: “This is a problem. Can we get away with not fixing it?” We often think that if we identify a problem then, obviously, it should be fixed. But not every problem requires a solution. Just like not every new opportunity is worth chasing. Rather, it’s important to focus is on what truly matters for our team’s long-term success. Resources—time, energy, and talent—are finite and should be allocated to the issues that will drive the most significant impact. #weekendmusings

Who said work can’t be fun? Fun Friday at Zavops = Teamwork + Laughs + Weekend Ready! Work hard, play harder —because a refreshed team is a productive team. 🧠✨ At Zavops, we believe that teams that unwind together, thrive together. 🌟 Every Friday, we dedicate time for our Fun Friday Sessions — a mix of games, friendly competitions, and team activities that help us close the week with laughter and lighthearted moments.
