A study by the Rights Lab, University of Nottingham and Anti-Slavery International published this week revealed that the UK is not effectively combating modern slavery through its trade and investment practices. Despite recognising the Indo-Pacific region as key to trade, UK efforts fall short of international best practices, particularly in ensuring supply chains are free from forced labour, given that the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 59% of global slavery statistics. To truly act as a 'force for good,' the UK must adopt stronger, more coherent strategies in its trade agreements. Key recommendations include ensuring modern slavery concerns are embedded into trade and investment arrangements from beginning to end. A communist’s effort is BOTH economic and political as many of Maria’s programs most aptly reveal, and both aspects need to be understood. This particular clip discusses, among other things, how the demographic towards 1.0 replacement rate. 2.1 is the lowest rate to maintain a country’s existence. This birth rate resulted from China’s previous one child policy and put China on an eventual self-destruct course. Their real estate policies will hasten their economic destruction. Xi sees and understands these trends. He won’t wait much longer until he moves to make China secure as he defines security. Mao was aggressive. Xi will be aggressive, and soon. China may soon use the strength it now has to take from others what it thinks it needs to not only survive, but thrive. Gordon Chang is an expert on China. I recommend his words and work for to everyone to follow.

Canada’s Modern Slavery Act is now in effect: is your #supplychain ready? In line with its obligations under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Canada has enacted the Fighting Against Forced Labor and Child Labor in Supply Chains Act (commonly known as the Canadian Modern Slavery Act or CMSA) as its first piece of modern slavery legislation. Under this new law, companies operating in Canada will be required to file annual, public reports on the state of their multi-tier supply chain, and any risks associated with forced labour. Check out our latest case study to learn how the Altana Atlas – our map of the global supply chain – can help you understand your multi-tier supply chain and effectively counter forced labour globally. https://lnkd.in/dU56QQPZ

My Gosh, so much negativity and hate out in the UK at the moment. Lets take a minute and stop and think, why are we so angry and what do we need to put to right? I think this will give us an idea on what we need to focus on and that is always about putting things right. Also another phrase, which always comes up is British Values, do we know what they are, well here is a reminder: democracy. the rule of law. individual liberty. mutual respect. tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. This is what this country was built on and lets stick to these values.
