I listen to a ton of podcasts - at the gym, on walks, on the way to my kids' activities. I also take some form of green powder every day. Early on, AG1 grabbed my attention, now I can't stand it. It's not that the ads are bad, they're fine, it's that they're everywhere. Why does this matter? As someone who has run a business and paid for ads, I know that ad budget pulls from other areas (product quality, team pay, new research, etc.). What is the tipping point for awareness? I've heard this ad enough to consider the product, but then it pushed far beyond awareness to annoyance, and then to frustration - feeling like I almost got duped by a brand that must be skimping on quality due to the competitive nature of the market and the incredible amount they're spending on podcast ads. Am I just an old grump and this is successful advertising? #ads #marketing #advertising

It's no secret that podcast listenership and influence continues to grow rapidly - and of course, the advertising dollars are following. I've been fortunate to manage millions of dollars in podcast ad spend over the years, and I've seen firsthand how this channel can drive measurable direct response results for brands - it was one of our most successful channels at ButcherBox. Recently, I had the opportunity to lead an end-to-end podcast media strategy project with a client - and it's been my favorite consulting project so far! Working with the company's VP of Growth, I helped vet agencies, identified the right partner, developed the strategy, and managed the agency team day-to-day to bring everything together. I really enjoyed the project - not only because it was fun to work on, but also because it is driving real results for the client. So I'm looking for more opportunities like this! If you (or someone you know) are exploring podcast advertising but aren't sure where to start, I'd love to help. I'm happy to act as a guide through the process - from finding the right agency to developing strategy to scaling the campaign. I have seen how valuable it is to have someone with experience identifying potential pitfalls and providing shortcuts - I had someone like this as an advisor in my ButcherBox days! Reach out if you're thinking about podcast advertising or know someone who is. #PodcastAdvertising #MediaStrategy #DigitalMarketing
