What do you think of #squigglycareers? Are you an employer who looks at a CV and frowns at a non-liner path? I've certainly had my fair share of that! My #squigglycareer has been incredibly rewarding and has given me so much personal and professional growth. It's meant that I've added significantly more value than the confines of my job description or title. I've been a Director of a vehicle leasing company at 26 and completed an MSc at 40 (having left school without A-levels); always learning and always wanting to add value. "By no longer being confined to rigid job descriptions or predetermined career paths, people are more likely to embrace change as a constant companion, seizing opportunities for growth, learning and exploration across various roles, industries and locations." What's not in doubt is that #squigglycareers are becoming more common and their value - both for employees and employers - can be significant; allowing for agility and growth in an uncertain economic climate. Whether that looks like offering temporary and contract roles, bringing in experience from different industries or challenging the asumption that longjevity in a role is automatically a positive. As I explore the next chapter on my #squigglycareer I'm using my 20 years operational, commercial and sales leadership experience combined with my MSc in People & Organisational Development to offer a consultancy service to business owners and leaders wanting to explore how to make their organisations fit for the future.
