Right to Start Founder and CEO Victor W. Hwang was quoted today by the Detroit Regional Chamber. At the Mackinac Policy Conference that wrapped up yesterday, Victor discussed the challenges that entrepreneurs face, including childcare, education, and healthcare, with a particular focus on the lack of supportive policies for small businesses. 82% of entrepreneurs believe the government favors big businesses over them, underscoring the need for a comprehensive approach to support small businesses. 🤝 Despite these hurdles, there is strong bipartisan support to improve the business environment. Victor told the audience, “People across both parties [want entrepreneurs to succeed] … there are people that have seen how the system doesn’t work. ...It’s just very powerful to see. And often, they’ll say 'This is the first time we’ve worked so closely on things together.'” 🏁 Read the full debrief here: https://lnkd.in/eKkPzTJE Song Foundation #MPC24 #LetUsStart #BuildYourDreams #entrepreneurship

Black entrepreneurs always overcome, but we need to talk about one of the most common challenges they face: limited access to resources and funding. VC funding for Black-owned businesses fell 71% in the U.S. last year, and funding for Black businesses continues to make up less than 1% of all VC support. Black business ownership is growing at the fastest pace in 30 years. For most of these entrepreneurs, their business is their primary source of income. Supporting Black-owned businesses doesn't stop at purchases—it’s about investing in a more equitable and thriving economy. If you're a Black business owner, we want to know: What's been your greatest challenge to date? #BlackBusiness #NationalBlackBusinessMonth #BlackEntrepreneurs
