Marsilli Virtual tour #1 Today we begin a virtual tour imagined to discover the Marsilli departments that take care of our customers' projects, from the very first product draft to the very last, that for us is the maintenance of the Marsilli equipment.   The first department we will encounter during this tour is definitely the Co-Design dept. Here our experts work daily to optimize the design of motors and coils of those customers who need advices and technical supports, and especially with a focus on industrialization.   How does it work, in detail? We asked Corrado, an experienced engineer who has worked at Marsilli for over 15 years and is responsible for the Co-Design department.   He gave us a practical example, telling us that yesterday he met with a customer to analyze in detail his product, the status of the design, the final application, and the necessary optimizations. He is now preparing an optimized design proposal for industrialization, taking advantage of his deep knowledge of winding and automation processes. Once the proposal is ready, he will present it to the client, who will handle all electromagnetic aspects while Corrado is in charge of optimizing the product design, including connection technologies and plastics. If necessary, we will also take care of prototypes production in our laboratory, 3D and real, to test them in every aspect and make sure that the final product corresponds to the customer's needs.   The end result will be an in-depth analysis and product optimization for the customer, while for Marsilli, this will reduce process risks in the equipment phase to produce the final product.   If you would like to learn more about Corrado's work and other Marsilli experts, please contact us! #marsilli #winding #innovation #codesign #coengineering

Rolling-Pairs with Shifting Contact Geometry (SCG) incorporate two different contact geometries within the same rolling pair. This #innovative out-of-the-box idea aims at reducing slippage in rolling interfaces operating under (synchronous) cyclic loading, where traction is diminished under low contact forces. This patented solution minimizes the slide-to-roll ratio, allowing a smooth operation by eliminating the traction force peaks associated with the occurrence of slip. Furthermore, in some applications, the incorporation of this concept can yield a substantial mass reduction, such as in the case of large-scale hydraulic drivetrains. We're thrilled to showcase the tech demonstration from Azimuth Technologies, who collaborated with Chuan Lim Construction Pte Ltd on an innovative project for the automatic installation of noise barrier panels. This collaboration was made possible through their participation in Cycle 4 of BEAMP. Traditionally, installing noise barrier panels involved significant challenges, including worker safety concerns and the need for at least four people to install each set of panels. Thanks to BEAMP, Azimuth and Chuan Lim tackled these issues by: 1. Redesigning the noise panels using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles, adapting the workflow for robotic adoption. 2. Designing a customised robotic arm capable of handling the noise barrier panels efficiently. 3. Developing a Vision Analytic system to facilitate the accurate placement of panels using AI 3D Point Cloud technology, overcoming environmental light interference and ensuring precise detection of 3D objects. The results are impressive! The new robotic system can install noise barrier panels in less than 5 minutes per column, and creates the possibility of only requiring one on-site worker. This innovative solution also significantly improves safety by minimising the need for workers at heights, and results in cost savings by reducing labour needs and minimising error rates. Looking ahead, Azimuth and Chuan Lim plan to further develop and test their technology, potentially through  a trial/pilot at the Jurong Regional Line project.
