Will the World See a “Staggering” Oil Supply Glut in 2030? The International Energy Agency (IEA) recently released its Oil 2024 report, which examines the global dynamics for oil supply security, refining, trade, and investment. The report received considerable media attention because of the projection that by 2030 oil production will reach “a staggering 8 million barrels per day above projected global demand.” The report cites the proliferation of electric vehicles, the growing utilization of renewable energy, and China’s declining oil consumption growth are key contributors… http://ow.ly/kcZk105xrv9

We've heard the comments about renewable energy generation being unreliable 'when the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine'. The report by Statistics Canada of Energy Statistics December 2023 shows the comparable concerns for energy generation from other sources. Fortunately Canada has all these energy generation sources so we can adapt to the changes (or externalities). And Canada will need to increase generation capacity from ALL sources to achieve a sustainable energy future. #Canada #sustainableenergy #statisticscanada https://lnkd.in/gZyZ--Mi

Interesting times in the energy sector as natural gas producers reduce output in an attempt to drive up prices. This strategy might seem beneficial short-term, but it's essentially tightening their own noose. With every uptick in prices, renewable energy options become more economically viable. The shift towards sustainability gains momentum, not just from an environmental standpoint, but from a pure cost-effectiveness perspective. #EnergyMarket #NaturalGas #Renewables #Sustainability" https://lnkd.in/gFfEfwiB

The demand for petrochemicals is expected to remain strong and will continue to be a key driver of oil and gas demand in the future. The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates and global oil demand will plateau by 2030 as penetration of electric vehicles and increased uptake of alternative drive technologies for commercial vehicles ebb demand for fossil fuels. And so energy firms around the world are looking at alternatives. #petrochemicalindustry
