If you are working on "innovation" somehow in Japan or with Japan, this is a stimulating opportunity to attend in Osaka, this December. https://lnkd.in/gY59z6iQ This conference is not fully for academic people. Rather, this is where professionals working on innovation somewhere somehow get mingled with their peers in the world, exchanging their experience and opinions. In short, it will be a vivid and dynamic opportunity for those who are active with a keyword of "innovation". So, if you have some interesting innovation-related cases to show off to the world, or, have some issues to share and discuss with your peers from other countries, their submission window is still open. Let me repeat: the submission topic can be any practical cases from your work, and the most important point is "interacting professionally with your peers of innovation"! In addition, now the conference itself shows good interests in Japan, and it looks they are strengthening the network in Japan not only in Osaka but also in other areas in Japan. So if you want to get involved their activity, or, to use their networking in your innovation work from now on, I believe this is a good timing to start it

Time to share, reflect and celebrate at the '2024 Conference EU investments in strategic projects: an outlook from Catalonia'. Institut de Recerca Sant Pau has joined this event today, which was hosted by Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and Fundació Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. We've had great sessions, which showcased amazing projects on 🌱European Industrial Green Deal 💻Human-centric Digital Age and 🔬Health and Life Sciences. I feel proud of what the Catalan research system has achieved and of the #excellence, #interdisciplinarity, #collaboration and #capacity our research institutes, universities and infrastructures have. Not surprisingly, the highlighted challenges to improve our competitiveness have been the same in all sessions: 👥 talent 📃 bureaucracy 💶 investment They are clearly identified. Let's start approaching them soon! Our society deserves us to be competitive and agile. The 2024 Canada-Italy Forum, titled "Nurturing our Well-being with AI" was a unique opportunity for cultural and professional exchange between Italy’s innovation ecosystem and that of Quebec. The program facilitated mutual sharing of projects and experiences, as well as visits to key innovation hubs and universities in Montreal. The Italian delegation, welcomed by the Italian Ambassador to Canada, Andrea Ferrari, and led by the Italian Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada, included numerous institutions and companies. Among them were ICE – the ITA - Italian Trade Agency, the Regione Puglia, Regione Emilia-Romagna, the Comune di Taranto, Clust-ER Build Edilizia e Costruzioni, Clust-ER Health - Emilia-Romagna, Ap-EDIH, Dante EDIH, CTE CALLIOPE, Meditech - Competence Center, Planetek Italia, and a pool of innovative startups including befreest srl, Mathclick, fore ai, Tilebytes srl, and Limitless Device, along with several professors from Italian universities. All representatives took part in the Forum's various sessions, actively participating in working groups aimed at fostering transatlantic collaborations. In this context, significant meetings organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada were held at innovation hubs and universities in Montreal, including IVADO Labs, Scale AI, ADAPT/ES, QIS, McGill University, and others. This opportunity was valuable for exploring potential synergies, especially considering Canada's entry into the #HorizonEurope program. 📢 Out right now! 📝 New blog: The Devious Dozen: 12 fallacies behind innovation lab "failures" (https://lnkd.in/g6D--JXr) Take a look at the new blog from my colleague Benjamin Kumpf and me on 12 reasons behind innovation lab "failures". Why the use of quotation marks in "failures"? First, apparent failures are extremely important occasions to correct biases and pre-assumptions, embed learnings, strengthen existing approaches, and adjust the planned trajectories for lab design and delivery. As a matter of fact, many labs were precisely created as safe spaces to try, fail and improve. Not even the end of a lab means failure, some might transform into new units or leave institutional and cultural legacies as planned, while others might evolve in specialised innovation and tech units. From the review of an extensive collection of 137 cases, plenty of practitioners' insights and a pile of specialized literature, we have identified 12 traps that innovation labs may run into and present 12 examples of how to dodge them. Powerful cases from amazing innovation labs around the world. Learnings and tips from all continents: 🇿🇦#SouthAfrica (Centre for Public Service Innovation), 🇧🇷 #Brazil (Enap/Gnova and LabHacker - Laboratorio Brasileiro De Cultura Digital), 🇵🇹 #Portugal (AMA - Agência para a Modernização Administrativa, IP/LabX - Centro para a Inovação no Setor Público), 🇧🇩 #Bangladesh (a2i), 🇨🇵 #France (La 27e Région), 🇨🇱 #Chile (Laboratorio de Gobierno), 🇦🇺 #Australia (The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI)), 🇵🇪 #Peru (Secretaría de Gobierno y Transformación Digital de la Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros/Red Nacional de Laboratorios de Innovación), 🇨🇭 #Switzerland (staatslabor), 🇺🇸 #UnitedStatesofAmerica (GSA @18F), 🇳🇿 #NewZealand (Service Innovation Lab).
