Striking a balance, in collaboration entails navigating between expression and group harmony delicately. Each performer brings their voice to the ensemble while also harmonizing seamlessly with others. Humility and dedication are vital prioritizing the musics needs over pride or goals. Making compromises and adjustments is often necessary to find a balance. Not every idea or note makes it to the piece exactly as planned. Through collaboration and recording artists refine their visions and mold the music into its authentic form.

Entry-Level Musicians with Good Attitude vs. Master-Level Musicians with Bad Attitude: Seizo Entertainment's Perspective In the music industry, there is often a debate between hiring entry-level musicians with a good attitude or master-level musicians with a very bad attitude. Seizo Entertainment, a longstanding player in the industry, honestly responds that they value attitude far more. According to Seizo, skills can be developed and honed over time, but attitude is a fundamental part of one's character from birth. One of the primary reasons Seizo Entertainment prefers musicians with a good attitude is the smoother collaboration and teamwork. Musicians with a positive attitude are generally easier to work with, more open to feedback, and contribute constructively to projects. This creates a harmonious and productive work environment, ultimately leading to better music production. Moreover, musicians with a good attitude often possess a stronger work ethic. They tend to be more dedicated, disciplined, and willing to continuously learn and improve. Seizo believes that with the right attitude, an entry-level musician can achieve a high level of skill over time. On the other hand, master-level musicians with a bad attitude may have high skill levels, but they are often difficult to collaborate with and can disrupt team dynamics. Seizo Entertainment also emphasizes the importance of a musician's reputation in the industry. Musicians with a bad attitude tend to develop a negative reputation, which can adversely affect future projects and collaborations. Conversely, musicians with a good attitude build a positive reputation, opening more opportunities for their careers. In conclusion, Seizo Entertainment firmly states that they value attitude over skill. For them, skills can be acquired and improved, but attitude reflects one's fundamental character. By choosing musicians with a good attitude, Seizo is confident they can create a positive and productive work environment and produce high-quality music.

Imagine a band where everyone’s really good at their instrument. But when they try to play together, it sounds more like noise than music. Ever wondered why? This band may be a group of talented musicians, each being great at what they do, but the issue often comes from each person wanting their own way and trying to be the star of the show. Recognise this pitfall early and find how everyone can win and feel like they are driving success together. Often, team members do not end up talking enough about what each person expects, leading to misperceptions and is akin playing a game without any rules. By talking more and sharing ideas, bright people come closer and converge on views, ideas, and strategies and are more effective as they plan and coordinate better. Communicating openly/regularly and having fair, open and good conversations where people challenge each other and then converge to a common solution after hearing everyone helps people understand each other better. Such teams are effective, as they enjoy working together with a healthy professional/personal respect for one other. The rest is pure music! No team member is ever perfect at everything. Once basic trust and dynamics is positively created, then teams should identify the strengths of each, and what special trait, knowledge or skill each brings. Such unique skills collectively becomes a strong matrix held by the glue of culture and respect. However, often, exceptionally skilled people are idiosyncratic, with spikey personalities that are difficult to wedge together initially. However, once they adjust with other’s strengths, their skills supplement the collective capability of the team, and the result is magic! It is akin to how a band of musicians with different music skills, bond together in unison to create harmony. Finally, for a team to be a successful, there is no place for diva’s or those who believe only they contribute, and the rest do not. To assume that is the only key-person in any team’s journey is a the biggest risk to the team ever becoming an effective. In a team, one-upmanship is a disaster… only a team with a symbiotic relationship amongst them can win together, thrive, and sustain in the long run. The secret sauce is in maintaining a healthy professional respect for each member of the team, and in believing that no one is expendable - and that no single one is the mover-&-shaker. It is important for each person to contribute, and be respected for it too. Effective teamwork involves respecting each other, understanding each other, talking a lot, being willing to challenge each other without being personal, using each person’s skills in the best way, and making working together fun and enjoyable. If a team is able to achieve this, then exceptional results are guaranteed! Henry Ford summarized this brilliantly with his famous quote… “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Leadership Lessons in Music? Ever thought about how we can find lessons in leadership from unassuming sources? As a music lover and occasional player, I've always been interested in how a symphony, or a great song is put together. Every instrument playing its part, contributing to the overall harmony. Every musician, from the lead singer to the quietest drummer, are all essential to the performance. It's a great reminder that ALL contributions make a difference. If you dig into what’s going on underneath a musical ensemble, you might find that there are some lessons in there for leaders. Great music requires several key conditions to be true to make its mark, and they are no different to the conditions that great leaders should be fostering with their teams. 🎶 Vision A composer provides the blueprint for a musical piece, the vision of what the musical composition will sound like in the end. Good leaders provide a clear vision, inspire and motivate the team. It's about setting the direction and guiding others towards a shared goal. 🎶 Alignment In an orchestra, conductors take the lead, aligning everyone to create a harmonious sound. Leadership is no different, it's about aligning and enabling everyone to achieve a common goal. 🎶 Communication Poor communication can ruin a performance. Musicians must communicate and listen to each other to stay in sync and keep the rhythm and flow. Leaders need to understand that effective communication is key to building trust and understanding. 🎶 Collaboration Jazz bands are well known for their improvisation skills. Musicians listen, respond, and create something new together. Leaders need to foster an environment where ideas can flow freely, and collaboration thrives. 🎶 Teamwork Every member of a band has a crucial role. When everyone understands it, sees it and respects it, they feel valued and the band shines. Leaders must ensure to recognise the unique contributions of each individual and focus on building a strong team culture in which they can shine. 🎶 Preparation The best performances are the result of countless hours of practice. It's the same for leaders, preparation and continuous learning are essential for you and your teams best performance. 🎶 Rest The silent part in a piece of music, a musical rest, provides structure and allows the flow and rhythm of music to resonate. Leaders equally must ensure their team has time to rest, to have quiet moments and downtime, helping to ensure the rhythm and flow of work continues to resonate. Every note contributes to a symphony, every person contributes to a team. Where do you find lessons in leadership? #Leadership #Teamwork #Collaboration #DSM

5 Business Insights from the World of Music Some of you may know that Humanizing Work's Peter Green is a professional musician. Recently, after a busy week playing with multiple groups in different styles and in a wide range of venues, he reflected on what makes a musician successful and found those same lessons apply to work. Here are five insights from the world of music that can help in any work situation: 1. It’s About “The Hang” as Much as Musical Skill In the music world, we spend more time together off stage than on it. Musicians who are easy to get along with and communicate well are said to be a “good hang,” and are often preferred over more skilled but difficult musicians. Similarly, being a good teammate means being easy to get along with, communicating well, contributing positively to your team, amplifying your skills, and enhancing team success. 2. Prepare Well Then Be Present in the Moment Musicians spend years practicing so that performing becomes muscle memory, allowing them to be fully present on stage. This presence makes the difference between a good technician and someone who can transport the audience emotionally. What in your work would benefit from practicing key skills to the point of muscle memory so you can be fully present in meetings, tasks, or presentations? 3. Great Listening Matters as Much as Great Playing, and Is Much Rarer Playing with different groups, I found that enjoyment and performance quality were impacted by whether the musicians were listening to each other. When musicians are truly listening, it creates a collaborative and dynamic performance. In work, this is equally true. Most of us listen just enough to plan our response. Instead, stay curious and actively listen to others, deepening conversations and opening more options. 4. Great Teams Improvise Well Even in genres with strict performance expectations, the ability to improvise is crucial. I once heard a story of a violist in a world-class quartet who forgot a solo, and a violinist seamlessly took over without missing a beat. In work, even predictable tasks sometimes require improvisation. The ability to creatively solve unexpected problems is essential, regardless of the type of work. 5. Different Styles, Different Structures In one group, I arrived at the venue with no idea of what songs we’d play, how we’d approach them, etc. It was pure jazz–we improvised around shared cultural norms in the jazz world. In another group, the music was sent out ahead of time, in the order we’d play it, with detailed sheet music. Different styles have different structures and expectations, and the same is true of different types of work! Whether you need detailed checklists for reliable results or flexibility for innovation, adapting to your team’s needs is key. We hope applying one or more of these musical principles to your work will unlock some new capabilities for you.

Start to follow here https://lnkd.in/eGewxM6w newly launched Music Artificial Intelligence Worldwide Leadership Music and leadership share some fascinating parallels. Let’s explore the quote and delve into the connection between music and effective leadership. The quote is attributed to Bono, the lead singer of the legendary rock band U2. It reads: “Music is the true voice of the human spirit. It can go beyond language, beyond age, and beyond color, straight to the mind and heart of all people.” 🎵 Now, let’s break down the leadership traits that music embodies: Emotional Impact: Just like a great song, effective leaders touch people’s hearts as well as their minds. They create an emotional impact that lingers, making their messages unforgettable. A leader’s words (the “lyrics”) must tell a meaningful story, while their actions (the “music”) resonate with their audience. Attention to Detail: Exceptional leaders pay attention to the little things. For instance, Ted Turner, the media mogul, was known for his counter-intuitive insights. He challenged conventional thinking, touching people’s hearts beyond normal business decisions. His leadership was like a unique melody that stood out. Inclusivity: Music transcends boundaries. Similarly, leaders should embrace diversity and recognize the value each team member brings. Just as different musical instruments contribute to a harmonious composition, diverse perspectives enhance organizational success. Precision and Timing: Great music requires precise execution. Similarly, leaders must finely tune their plans, recognizing the strengths of each team member. Inspiration: Music inspires us. Leaders should aim to inspire and move people, just as a powerful melody does. Whether through vision, storytelling, or encouragement, effective leaders create a sense of purpose that resonates with their teams. Collaboration: Music often involves collaboration among musicians. Similarly, leaders must foster teamwork, encouraging everyone to play their part. The symphony of success emerges when individual efforts harmonize. Adaptability: Music evolves over time, embracing new genres and styles. Likewise, leaders must adapt to changing circumstances, remaining flexible and open-minded. The ability to adjust their leadership approach ensures continued resonance. Passion: Musicians pour their hearts into their art. Leaders who exhibit genuine passion inspire others. Passionate leadership ignites enthusiasm, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose. Resilience: Musicians face challenges, but they keep playing. Leaders, too, encounter obstacles. Resilience—the ability to bounce back—is crucial. Like a powerful chorus, resilient leaders rally their teams even during tough times. Legacy: Great music lives on, leaving a lasting impact. Leaders should strive to create a positive legacy. Whether through mentorship, innovation, or community impact, their leadership echoes beyond their tenure.
