June is just around the corner and there is lots happening next month in the Black Deer camp. We have started the build for Black Deer Festival of Americana at the beautiful Eridge Estate, and the sunshine is definitely coming for everyone for the rest of the summer…....... 🤞 😎 😎 😎 (We have to remain positive!). My heart really goes out to all my industry colleagues who have fought so hard to keep their wonderful festivals going, and have made the decision not to continue this year, believe me I know what you would have been through to make those kind of decisions. Big congratulations to those who have had to endure the horrible weather and managed to open their gates and have given everyone a brilliant time. Black Deer Radio is now LIVE - and the joy of planning meetings with really excited talented people has been so brilliant that it truly lifts your spirits at a time when the news is not always that great. I am excited about the future of the Deer!! Check out our Black Deer Live website to see all the great things happening with the help of our lovely partners. Its just the beginning……….. ❤️

We’ve Type-II errored our way to a singular acceptable fit for what an engineer looks like. - Leetcode to eliminate older devs. - Culture fits to find people with similar backgrounds or simply speech cadence. - Questions where the best answers are lies to weed out autistics. - Needless hoops to find ones that “really want the job” aka desperate. - Bait and switches at the last moment, even after offers are signed and they’ve given notice at the last job. - 5+ interviews (sunk cost fallacy) to get employees to accept less. I truly don’t think these businesses want to succeed, which would require motivated, top-tier talent with unique ideas to beat their competition. But managers have discovered a process that seems to work, and it’s become almost universal. So yes, we’ve Type-II errored our way to a singular acceptable fit for what an engineer looks like. That’s why every other human who is also an engineer needs to start their own business right now.
The closest 100m final in history. All runners under 10 seconds. 7th place would be silver in Rio 2016. 0.12 seconds between 1st and last. Very similar to the tech job market right now.

Understanding the lives, traditions, and celebrations of the Indigenous communities who still inhabit the cherished lands of Atacama, Bocas del Toro, Hangaroa, and Arenal is a gift, and one that we work to share with all who visit us at the Nayara Resorts. These forests, deserts, mountainsides, and waters are sacred places inhabited by countless generations, that offer the chance for both travelers and Indigenous individuals alike the chance to walk in the footsteps of those ancestors and celebrate their memory with these preserved traditions and customs.
