Welcome to the newly redefined Atlantis Casino at Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas. HBG Design is thrilled to have designed this transformation, marrying contemporary brand aesthetics with the timeless charm of this iconic resort destination.
In the dynamic world of hospitality, hotels and BnBs continually strive to create unique and unforgettable experiences for their guests. One key element that sets a lodging apart from the competition is the incorporation of art. Art has the power to transform hotel spaces, elevating the overall ambience and leaving a lasting impression on guests.
Here are some insights into how art can be strategically integrated into hotel design, along with common types of art that enhance the aesthetic and guest experience in any short-term rental scenario:
Murals and Wall Art: Murals allow hotels to make bold statements and transform blank walls into captivating storytelling pieces. They can reflect local culture, history, or the hotel’s unique story.
Paintings: Whether traditional or contemporary, paintings bring colour, texture, and visual interest to hotel spaces. Curating them carefully to align with the hotel’s concept and brand identity is essential.
Textile Art and Tapestries: These add luxury and softness to interiors. They can be used as wall hangings, bed throws, or decorative elements, creating a cozy and elegant ambiance.
Installation Art and Immersive Experiences: Installation art engages multiple senses, creating memorable guest journeys. Light installations, soundscapes, and kinetic art fall into this category.
Remember, the key to a successful art marketing strategy is to align the art with the hotel’s brand, target audience, and overall guest experience. By creating an environment that sparks curiosity and conversation, hotels can leverage the power of word-of-mouth marketing to attract new guests and cultivate a loyal customer base.
So, whether it’s a captivating painting in the lobby or an immersive installation in the hallway, art plays a pivotal role in shaping the hotel experience and leaving guests with lasting memories.
At Revietalise Design, we firmly believe that well-considered design isn't just about aesthetics—it's about enhancing the entire #CustomerExperience and adding #value that far exceeds the initial investment.
Consider this: you arrive at an Airbnb property and are greeted not just by a warm smile, but by a beautifully crafted guidebook that takes you on a journey through the property's amenities, local attractions, and insider tips. It appears simple, but you understand everything. Suddenly, your stay isn't just a place to rest your head—it's an immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Well-considered design is an investment that speaks volumes about your brand's commitment to excellence, be that as part of a holiday letting service, or when engaging with other businesses to offer a service.

In a digital-forward world, the future of luxury experience design leans towards tangible, analog experiences, with Theo Jansen's kinetic sculptures exemplifying how art and technology merge to redefine immersive interiors.
I Recently had a thought-provoking conversation with a colleague about the future of luxury experiences led us to an intriguing hypothesis:
as Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies become more affordable and advanced, the essence of high-value luxury may paradoxically shift towards profoundly tangible, analogue experiences. This counterintuitive trend underscores a growing appetite for authenticity and sensory richness that digital alternatives struggle to replicate fully.
Theo Jansen's kinetic sculptures, particularly the Animaris Rex, highlight a seamless blend of art, engineering, and environmental integration. These creations move with the wind, offering a new dimension to the concept of living art in physical spaces.
But why?
- Use dynamic elements that react to natural forces (like light and wind), creating an ever-evolving sensory experience that keeps the interior space fresh and engaging.
- Design with materials and forms that reflect and complement the interior’s natural surroundings, fostering a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor environments.
- Incorporate kinetic sculptures or installations that invite interaction, turning passive observers into active participants and blurring the lines between art and viewer.
- Utilize installations that adapt to the presence and actions of individuals, offering a personalized experience that heightens the sense of exclusivity and luxury.
And How?
- Designs that stimulate the senses can evoke strong emotional responses, creating memorable experiences that forge a deeper connection between the space and its inhabitants.
- Engaging multiple senses can enhance cognitive function, promoting creativity, relaxation, and overall well-being, making the interior not just a space but a sanctuary for the mind.
Theo Jansen’s work symbolizes the pivot towards immersive, sensory-rich environments that celebrate the physicality and craftsmanship lost in the virtual. As we advance, luxury will be defined by how well spaces can engage our senses, emotions, and intellect, offering bespoke experiences that digital cannot replicate.

Venue design is more than just aesthetics, it’s about creating a seamless flow for both guests and staff. As someone who’s been involved in concept creation and design, I always consider the guest experience first.
What journey do they take from the entrance to the table? Does the ambiance support the brand narrative?
Design also plays a crucial role in operational efficiency, making it easier for teams to deliver exceptional service. For me, great design is a marriage of form and function.

Body-mind-soul harmony.
This type of design exercises, in my opinion, is always valuable, interesting, and potentially rewarding. Presenting a project or a new concept that encapsulates all the ideas and visions of your expertise, perhaps without creative limits imposed by any brief, allows teams to showcase their abilities to the fullest. At b-f-t-m, we also occasionally invest in this type of exercise. It's always fascinating both before and during, but also after such a project.
In this instance, DNA Barcelona Architects introduces a new concept for a holistic boutique hotel, TOH, seamlessly integrated with nature, focused on body-mind-soul harmony, seeking a balance between architecture and the surrounding environment, offering unparalleled panoramic views of the lagoon and an unprecedented central distribution.
A wavy roof inspired by bird flight provides a visual spectacle of the Toh's colors and enhances movement with reflections in the water.
This magnificent arrangement of distinctive volumes not only ensures privacy but also offers breathtaking views from any point in the resort.
